Jim Furyk leads by one at -8 over Retief Goosen and Luke Donald, while Geoff Ogilvy is three back and Paul Casey four back.
Can Furyk, who has won once (this year’s Transitions Championship) since 2007, pull it off? East Lake Golf Club suits Furyk’s game so we’ll see if his nerves hold out. Can he do what his dad told him to do yesterday:
Just play golf. Do what you’ve been doing.
Nick Watney went super low yesterday with a 63, so low scores are out there.
Ogilvy is a much hotter tempered player than I realized. He was not thrilled yesterday. Made me feel better about my own temper on the course.
UPDATE 11:21am ET: Jim Furyk has teed off. He missed the fairway on #1 to the left but he’s in play fine. Retief Goosen (also in the final group), tee’d off with a 3-wood and is in the right tree line. I love watching Goosen’s swing. It reminds me of mine. 🙂
Tour Championship TV Coverage
I’ve just posted about 50 photos from the neat old course up north of Salt Lake in Davis County called Davis Park. Not a long course, but it is quite fun.

Opener Option #1
Last Thursday I shot my best round of the year, a 70 (-2) on a tough Arthur Hills course. I’m playing again tomorrow. Being a typical golfer, I’ll be replicating everything I did last Thursday, from wearing the same underwear to eating the same cereal to using the same bath towel. I’ll be wearing the same shoes for sure and not just because I’m superstitious. I’ll be wearing my new Royal Albartross Black Jack Nero shoes because they’re so comfortable.
Opener Option #2
Had I had my new Royal Albartross patent leather golf shoes when I tied the knot back on May 22 of this year, I would have discarded the rental shoes from Men’s Wearhouse which came with my tuxedo, and replaced them with my Black Jack Neros. They’re by far the nicest shoes I own and about as comfortable as my Vans.
Thanks again to my pals at Golf Pride for sending me a set of both the 2010 European and USA Ryder Cup V-Rad putter grips. These grips allow you to show your allegiance to your favorite team in the 2010 Ryder Cup.
I love these grips. They’ve got a great feel, especially for the touch required when putting.
Golf Pride’s description of the V-Rad Grips
With its subtle texture and tackiness, the V-RAD provides a consistent, light grip for ultimate touch around the green, plus a unique semi-pistol shape that fits even the widest range of hand sizes.
Problem
I have a problem. Do I put on the grip for the team I want to win: the USA? Or do I put the grip on for the team I think will win: Europe? Maybe I’ll put USA on now, and keep it on if they win….
