Why I carry a camera – Volume 143

So I’m on my way home from the golf course (that is how I can related this to golf, and yes it is a stretch).  This guy was pedaling really fast.  I thought to myself, “why the hell doesn’t this guy just gear up?”  Then I saw that this dude’s pedals are hooked directly to the back wheel.  No gears. Only then did I notice the reflective gear he was wearing.

I almost couldn’t get my camera out of my pocket fast enough.

This one comes close to competing with the shot I took a while ago of the granny crossing the street with a crash helmet on, but not quite.

Cheap Beer

Might as well be frank with the customers at the golf snack bar.  Cheap beer is cheap beer.  I hate to be a beer snob, but I can’t drink cheap beer.  I need good beer…

Both Ryder Cup teams will be banned from Tweeting, facebooking or doing any other social media-ing during the Ryder Cup this weekend:

Corey Pavin

“We talked about it. The team has come to a consensus not to do it.

“It can be a little bit distracting sometimes, and I think it is important to focus on the Ryder Cup and playing in the matches. We’ve decided to not Tweet this week, but a week today I am sure Tweeting will be all over the place.”

Colin Montgomerie

“We are in the same boat. I think it’s important we focus on the job in hand this week.

“We are here to try regain the trophy that Corey has brought back for us. We have to focus on that job, and as Corey rightly says, on Monday October 4, yes, you will find the team probably on social network sites, but not until then.”

A few guys who are really active on social media sites may go through withdrawal like Ian Poulter, Bubba Watson or Stewart Cink.

Dear Jim Furyk: Do you have a few extra bucks you can loan me?

Jim Furyk has methodically ground his way to a victory at East Lake Golf Club to win the FedEx Cup and a cool $10,000,000.   It came down to a sensational up-and-down on the 18th from the right greenside bunker for par, in a pouring rain to win it.  Furyk was 9-9 in sand saves.

Many congratulations to my new BFF Jim Furyk.  Hey Jim, since we’re such good buddies do you have a few extra bucks you can loan me?
