Bad Ass Wedges

I love companies that combine a rock & roll rebel attitude and golf. Most my readers also know I love mixing golf and babes any way possible. Golf gets a little stuffy sometimes and it’s good to shake things up like Bad Ass Golf. Their site isn’t a typical golf site. They combine Harleys, pimped out golf carts and leather clad babes to send their message: “We’re Bad Ass….Golf.”

Bad Ass Site

I thought of starting this review of the Bad Ass wedges by saying something like “want a bad ass short game?” or “want to hit bad ass golf shots?” But could see this review might go a little overboard with the term bad ass… I’ll try to keep it down to a minimum.

Doral nuggets

Remember last year’s tournament at Doral? There were some interesting happenings.

1. Buick endorser Tiger won the Ford Championship at Doral and won a Ford GT. That’s the car that Ford endorser Phil Mickelson drives.
2. Tiger gave his Ford GT to his caddie Steve Williams.
3. After winning at Doral last year, Tiger regained his position over Vijay Singh as the number one golfer in the world. Remember?

Stupid press questions

Stupid press questions in the post round interviews are great. But what is even better is when the player is quick enough to come back with an answer that accentuates the stupidity of the question.

Case in point: After losing his match and getting knocked out of last week’s Accenture Match Play Phil Mickelson was asked by a reporter “what happened out there?” Phil replied “I got beat.”

But my favorite stupid press question almost always pops up is when they interview Tiger before a tournament:

Press: “Tiger, do you feel confident coming into this week’s tournament?”

My dream Tiger answer: “I should feel confident coming into this week, being the #1 golfer in the world. I should feel confident coming into this week since I’ve won 10 majors and dozens of other tournaments. I should feel confident since I have enough dough in the bank to last me for hundreds of years and I’m not worried about keeping my card. But honestly, I’m scared to death. I’m absolutely frightened to even pick up a club. I’m in absolute fear. I don’t sleep at night for fear that I may miss a one foot putt. I fear that one day I may pick up my driver and have absolutely no idea how to swing it. In short, no, I have no confidence coming into this week.”

Fantasy week 4 is in the history books. I was out of town and my team scored very little points due to having players miss the cut and not being able to manipulate the players I did have.

Birdies Galore! is the winner of this week’s weekly prize: A box of Swing Juice golf/sports drink.

By the way, it’s still not too late to join and get in on tons of great prizes!

Please click through here and hit our sponsor’s sites so they’ll want to sponsor us next season!

Trip shortened

I had to shorten my trip by a couple of days. The weather down in Eat’s area wasn’t looking good so I opted to go back home instead of driving 1300 miles round trip to play golf in the rain.

So unfortunately the blogger vs blogger vs blogger round of Mediaguru, Eatgolf and Luke Swilor will have to be postponed.

How much do you want to bet that now since I didn’t go visit Eat it won’t rain down there?
