Once again, due to snow I can’t get out on the course today.  The next time I do hit the links, I plan on taking my first test drive with the new Bushnell “neo” (yes, all lower case) pocket golf GPS.

Bushnell neo golf GPS - haven't put it in play yet, but it is already in my list of top new cool golf gadgets for 2011! Click for more images...

This thing is smaller than my Canon camera, which I always carry with me in my pocket.  The rounded corners are nice when it is in the pocket.  The unit comes with a belt mount too.

The unit does NOT require a subscription or fee to use either, which is nice.

Frogger HOP! Green Repair Tool

If I had the job of reinventing the wheel, there’s one guy on this planet I’d hire to do the gig. That would be Jeremiah from Frogger Golf.  Jeremiah seems to know what it takes to make an every day product better, and has the guts to go and and make the darn thing.  After all, Frogger didn’t invent the club brush, but their BrushPro is the best. They didn’t invent the golf towel, but their Amphibian Towel is the best

So why not reinvent the most used gadget in golf, or at least what should be the most used, the green repair tool?

Tattoo Golf Switch Blade Divot Tool

Tattoo GolfI doubt they’d let me on an airplane with this thing.  The latest divot tool I have in play is the Tattoo Golf Switch Blade.

Construction

This is not a light piece.  The unit is thick and made of stainless steel.  So if you want a wimpy little thin divot tool in your pocket, perhaps this one isn’t for you.  But if you like a solid, well built product then read on.

When the switch blade is concealed, the tool is about two inches long and about 3/4 wide.  Pressing the button you can see left of the skull in the image below releases the thick and strong blade which is great for fixing all the ball marks you can find, like I do.

Good Bad Ugly Golf Poker Chip Game

One of my favorite movies of all time is The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly with Clint Eastwood.  That’s also the name of a fun casino chip golf game.

Good Bad Ugly Chips

Golf Game by GolfPokerChipGame.com - click image to visit their site

The game comes with 12 casino style chips, each with a golf scenario on it like birdie, par, sand, OB etc.  Six of the 12 are “good” and six are “bad.”  The good chips are green and the bad are black.

As an occurrence, like say a sandy par happens, that player gets the chip.  At the end of the round the person with the most green chips wins.  In my group we assign $1 to each chip.
