nickent arc wedgeI’m having a hard time keeping up with Nickent today… Now we have the new ARC wedges!

“ARC Wedges feature a high-rebound elastomer inside the clubhead. ARC, or Accelerated Rebound Core, is an internal core that positions elastomer directly behind the strike zone, delivering a lively, solid reaction from the face to the ball and eliminating vibration.”

Intriguing…

I have pictures of the ARC and many other Nickent golf clubs in the Hooked On Golf Blog Nickent Gallery.

Nickent 4dx driverI guess Nickent wasn’t done announcing new gear today. They’ve now announced the Nickent 4DX Fairway Woods.

The 4DX fairway woods are available in 13°, 15°, 17°, 19° and 21° and come standard with a UST SR3 shaft for $199. You can upgrade to an Aldila NV or UST V2 shaft for $219.

These are sweet looking clubs. I have pictures of the 4DX and many other Nickent golf clubs in the Hooked On Golf Blog Nickent Gallery.

One thing I wanted to mention in the last post was how well these Nickents match the color scheme of this site!

Nickent releases 4DX driver

Nickent 4dx driverI’m a fan of Nickent Golf. I’ve reviewed some of their 3DX hybrids and also the mallet version of their Pipe Putter in the past. I guess they’ve graduated from the “3DX” series to the “4DX” now, a 33% increase.

Nickent didn’t jump on the square shaped driver bandwagon. Instead they’re going for a more traditional look which still has a high MOI like the square ones.

I have pictures of the 4DX and many other Nickent golf clubs in the Hooked On Golf Blog Nickent Gallery.

You can pick up the Nickent 3DX Hybrids and the Pipe Putters at Edwin Watts Golf. The 4DX isn’t at Edwin Watts yet, but they’ll be on the Nickent Drivers page when they arrive.

Nickent Golf Launches Exciting
New 4DX Driver

What’s the deal with driver design these days? We all know geometry is the buzzword today, because of the increase it makes on a club’s Moment of Inertia or MOI. But whatever happened to the classic shape that PGA Tour players demand?

The Masters coverage increased by an hour per day, for geeks.

When it’s Masters week I turn off my phones, lock my doors and glue myself to the TV and the computer. I watch all the Masters coverage I can get online and on the boob tube. It’s the best I can do until I either win the lottery for practice rounds or a generous HOG “patron” decides to take me there…wink wink.

Old fogies, new media

Despite being the old fashioned people they are, The Masters committee, headed by Billy Payne, has decided to increase the coverage by one hour each day via web streaming. So one hour before the TV coverage you can start watching “Amen corner live,” “Masters Extra” and player interviews from the media center. These guys aren’t dumb. They know the “future” holds much promise in the new media world (web streaming, mobile media etc). Good!

Basic Golf Apparel & Accessories

golf hatBeing an entrepreneur myself I’m always about helping to promote other entrepreneurs and small businesses. The golf industry is a tough racket and it’s really hard to stay in business. That’s one reason I’m happy to write this post about Basic Golf. Basic Golf’s product line is full of quality items, quality materials and stylish designs. The one thing their product line doesn’t have is high prices. That’s a nice niche.

Keep It Simple

Basic Golf has a very nice approach to their golf apparel and accessories business: keep it basic. I really like Basic Golf owner Ed Lemire’s sense of humor. The golf shirt has the Basic Golf logo on it along with the words “golf shirt.” The golf hat has the logo and the words “golf hat” on the front and back.

Golf Hat

My Basic Golf hat is great. It’s got a Velcro adjustable size strap with “basic golf” embroidered on it, along with the logo/name on the front. The hat is very comfortable.

Golf Shirt

I really like my Basic Golf “golf shirt.” The golf shirt has a hip design, white with gray sides. The shirt has a nice zipper on the neck, instead of buttons. I look stylin’, just like Hank Kuehne (only much better looking).

golf shirt

The fabric on the golf shirt is very comfortable. It’s silky smooth and very breathable with the moisture wicking Cooldry fabric. At $39, this shirt can hold it’s own with golf shirts I have which are well over $100.

Currently there are two models of golf shirts from Basic Golf, but more will be coming down the line. They also have a “Drive your balls” golf T-shirt as well.

Accessories

Basic Golf has a a few accessories available in their product line as well. Head over to their site and get some golf tees, ball markers, repair tools and even a Basic Golf sticker.

Conclusion

golf apparelBasic Golf’s apparel fills a great niche by offering very high quality, trendy items at a very affordable price. Pick some up online at their web site or tell your local shop to start carrying Basic Golf’s line.

I have a few pictures of some Basic Golf items in the new Basic Golf photo gallery. Check it out.
