nickent arc wedgeI’m having a hard time keeping up with Nickent today… Now we have the new ARC wedges!

“ARC Wedges feature a high-rebound elastomer inside the clubhead. ARC, or Accelerated Rebound Core, is an internal core that positions elastomer directly behind the strike zone, delivering a lively, solid reaction from the face to the ball and eliminating vibration.”

Intriguing…

I have pictures of the ARC and many other Nickent golf clubs in the Hooked On Golf Blog Nickent Gallery.

ARC Wedge From Nickent Golf
Takes Wedge Design to New Level

OK, golf aficionado, we’ve got a question for you! Sit back and think when the last time you heard of a revolutionary design innovation in a wedge. Takes you back a long way, doesn’t it? That’s why Nickent Golf is introducing their new ARC Wedge. Their one-of-a-kind ARC technology made Nickent the first wedge maker to feature a revolutionary change to a wedge in over 50 years. Now Master Designer John Hoeflich has designed a classic tour shaped wedge with game-changing technology for the PGA Tour player on up.

ARC Wedges feature a high-rebound elastomer inside the clubhead. ARC, or Accelerated Rebound Core, is an internal core that positions elastomer directly behind the strike zone, delivering a lively, solid reaction from the face to the ball and eliminating vibration. ARC is the only patented hidden perimeter weighting system ever used in a wedge series, making it the only wedge to have this amazingly soft feel with no vibration.

John Hoeflich’s expertise has always been wedges. When he was given the task of making a tour-preferred wedge that utilized the science of the Accelerated Rebound Core, he jumped at the chance. He stated that the ARC Wedge has become one of his favorite designs he has ever worked on. He even put in a window on the back of the club so you could see the innovation that has
been combined with these gorgeous shapes and transitions.

“When I first joined Nickent, I had my eye on the ARC technology,” said Hoeflich. “I asked Michael Lee if I could take it and design it with the shapes that I have perfected over the years. He whole-heartedly agreed and I took on the arduous process of making a wedge that looked like a blade and that played like a cavity back. This is a serious step forward in wedge design because it provides feel. Hopefully one day this wedge will be recognized as a trendsetter in that department. I’ve been waiting to design a wedge this perfect for 17 years, and I think I finally nailed it.”

The original ARC wedge was introduced to the LPGA Tour at the beginning of the 2004 season and quickly became one of the most used wedges on the LPGA. The ARC wedge has since won on the LPGA, the European Tour and has racked up numerous Top 10’s on the PGA Tours. The new ARC will should prove to be even more popular on tour based on early feedback from the players. The wedge will carry an MSRP of $139 and will come standard in a high end Nippon shaft.
