Last evaluation round before my new ProV1x review

I’m looking forward to today.  I’m playing one of my favorite courses (one of my three “home” courses) with my best golf buddy.  Marius from the new golf accessory compnay Sumi-g will be joining us too.   I’m also looking forward to putting on decent greens since the ones I’ve been putting on home course #1 really suck.

Today will mark the final round of about 10 that I’ve been playing with the new Titleist ProV1x.  I’ve been waiting to write my review of the new ProV1x so I could give an honest evaluation of how the thing putts on good greens.

2009 LPGA Corning Classic will be the last

The LPGA Tour announced that this year will be the last for the Corning Classic, a tourney which has had the same sponsor since 1979. They were unable to find new sponsors.

LPGA Corning Classic Jack Benjamin:

“This is a most difficult decision for all of us. Everyone involved with the event is passionate about it and about the LPGA players who have been a part of it for more than three decades.

But the realities are that the revenue opportunities in the marketplace will not support the components needed to successfully host a major event like this in our community moving forward.”

Some real foxes have moved in at the golf course

I live on the 16th fairway at my home course.  I have some new foxy neighbors which I’ve enjoyed photographing and even capturing a little video of.

As far as we could tell, there are about 6-7 baby foxes. Their den is between the 12th green and the 13th tee. In the next bit I may bring my big camera and try to get some real good shots of them, if their mom will let me.

Luke broke my camera

So far this season my good pal Luke Swilor and I have been running into each other a lot.  His new hangout is my home course.  The greens aren’t very good, but the course itself will force you to hit a ball straight.  Luke and I have been playing some golf and having putting contests (thanks for tying Dave on that 60 footer the other night by the way, you saved me $.25).

I had to send my Canon camera in for repair though, after I shot this pic of Luke.  As you can see, there’s a black blob on the left of the photo.  Now every photo I shoot has that blob.  Oh, and Luke’s form looks great too.  His head is still down and his arms have totally released.  My release doesn’t look like that.  I’ve got some sort of granny chicken wing effect.

UPDATE: Canon’s service center ROCKS.  I sent in my camera, which arrived there on Thursady of last week.  I just got my fixed camera today, Tuesday.  They even cleaned it.

HOG friend and golf babe Blair O’Neal debuts on The Big Break tonight

A while back I interviewed the mega hot golf babe Blair O’Neal.  Blair is a male golfer’s dream, a model who golfs.  I suppose she could be a heterosexually challenged female golfer’s dream too, but I digress…

Tonight on The Golf Channel, we’ll be starting back up with the latest installment of The Big Break.  Blair will most definitely be in the trademark Big Break “up skirt super slow-mo” golf swing shots.  Can’t wait.  I also can’t wait to hear them say “someone is going home.”  Man I miss that.

Best of luck to my friend Blair.  If she’d only lift the restraining order…

For more pictures of Blair O’Neal you can visit my Blair O’Neal shrine photo gallery.
