David Poole is a pal of mine. He’s with Golfdotz, a company which makes cool transfers for golf balls and now even golf shoes. Golfdotz, as seen here in this photo, are a much more fun and unique way of marking your balls. I prefer the skull and cross bones myself.
Two weeks ago at the biggest amateur tourney in the state, here’s the conversation from the first tee with me and 3 other players.
Player 1: “I’m playing a Titleist #2 with a blue dot”
Player 2: “I’m playing a Bridgestone 330 with a red line”
Player 3: “I’m playing a Titleist #1 with three black dots”
Me: “I’m playing a Titleist #3 with a black skull on it”
Little did I know that I was apparently playing ball which may have been illegal with the black skull Golfdotz on it. Now that isn’t the case as the USGA has approved Golfdots for use in competition.
Golfdotz are also a prize provided by my buddy David for the HOG Space Fantasy Golf 2009 season.

Congrats to my pal Dave the Orlando Golf Blogger. He got some major (pun intended) air time on Orlando TV regarding some golf deals for Father’s day.
Congrats Dave.
My boy is in summer golf camp. Rather than dropping him off and coming back 1.5 hours later, I’ll be on the range today doing a side by side comparison of the Nike STR8-FIT and the TaylorMade r9 drivers.
It should take me a few days to complete my writing after today’s research so stay tuned.
Michelle Wie has failed to qualify for the women’s US OPEN, and stuff. She missed qualifying by one stroke, like.
Yesterday I played a new course here, about an hour from my place with my new pal Chris from My Golf Book. The course is the Promontory Dye course, designed by Pete Dye.
We had a great time and this course is pretty wild. Unfortunately the greens had been punched and it has been raining here for what seems like several weeks straight. So the greens were so bad we decided to implement a max 2-putt rule. I hope to get back up there when the conditions are better to experience the course as it is meant to play so that I may do a full review here. Here are a couple of pics below from my newly added Promontory Dye Gallery which already has about 100 images.
