The rumors have been flying for a while.  Now there are headlines surfacing saying that Carolyn Bivens, LPGA Tour Commissioner, will be either fired or will quit by next week.

The so called “death sentence” was a letter submitted by some top players on the LPGA Tour asking  for Bivens to resign.

Many have said that Bivens has not been good for the LPGA.  I’m not informed enough to really make such a call.  I just don’t follow the LPGA much.

All I can say is that it won’t necessarily make things any better with her out.  The economy stinks and the LPGA Tour is a 3rd or 4th tier product.

I want to watch the best, like Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson.  Ochoa is incredible, yes, but I want to watch THE best golfers in the world and they’re not on the LPGA Tour.

Dear Andy,

I humbly bow at your knees and pay homage to the incredible job you are doing with your web site.

Tony

Andy’s HomeOfGolf.tv is the best new golf web site of 2009.  Hands down.  No doubt.  Nobody comes close.  His archive dates back to only February and his content is spectacular.  If it is this good after only 5-6 months, how good will it be in a year or two?

I found Andy through Facebook friends and have been watching his great video interviews.  The latest post for Andy has him interviewing my pal and Old Course caddy John Boyne (Boynie).  Boynie and I have been pals for a couple of years now, and he even sent me a caddy bib from St. Andrews!  Just recently Boynie caddied for my best friend at The Old Course.

In the video here, Andy and Boynie talk about the Road Hole at St. Andrews.  This is really good stuff.

My hat is off to the Mickelson family after the news that Phil’s mother has been diagnosed with breast cancer, six weeks following Phil’s wife Amy’s same diagnosis.

Cancer is evil.  It took my beloved mother, a great lady, from me.

I send all my best Karma to the Mickelson family.

Here’s a link to a more detailed AP article at golf.com, but the article is poorly written.

Tony on ZendrumSome may know I’m a professional musician. Along with playing the drums for about 38 years, I’ve been playing a unique instrument called a Zendrum for a few years.

I play in a very odd band called Zentherstick, which plays music as unique as the instruments we own. Here’s a shot of me playing last weekend at a western stampede on the 4th of July. Notice my Tattoo Golf shirt and my SUMI-G golf belt?

I must be the only person on this planet to wear a Tattoo Golf shirt, SUMI-G golf belt, and play Zendrum at a western stampede!
