pollThe latest HOG poll has closed.

This was the most popular poll yet at 175 votes! Thanks for your participation! I now realize the poll has been broken for a while since no votes worked on the previous poll.

The results please:

30% of you drive the ball in the 225-250 yard range, followed closely by 28% of you in the 275-300 range. Most of you were honest and only 2% voted on 300+ yard average.

Will the real Tiger Woods house please stand up?

I posted an article and some photos of a junk email floating around the web which were supposedly Tiger’s house.

I’ve received some less than friendly emails from real estate agents in Maui stating that the house in question was not Tiger’s, and that it was a rental that goes for $4k-$6K per night there.

Now there’s real news that Tiger has bought a “compound” of about 10 acres on Jupiter Island for about $40,000,000. You mean for $40,000,000 you can’t get your own island?

Price gouging? The guy who owns that particular compound now bought it for $16.7 million in 2003. Do you think he jacked the price up a bit when he found out who was interested? Welcome to America.

PipesNickent’s press release:

Nickent Golf Launches Innovative PIPE Blade Putters

Nickent Golf sure knows how to bring in the New Year! The up-and-coming company that took the PGA Tour and the golf world by storm in 2005 announced today that the PIPE Putter is now available in two new “blade” version models: the PP-004 (Plumber-Neck Blade) and the PP-005 (Flare-Tip Blade).

Initial manufacturer tests show that the innovative design of the PIPE Blade makes it the highest MOI blade putter in the game.

“In the era of high-MOI putters, there are only a few putters out there that have the ability to be a blade style design and a high MOI putter,” said Nickent Senior Vice President John Hoeflich. “Our new PIPE Blade features a classic blade shape combined with a very high MOI created by the light thermoplastic PIPE scheme and heavy tungsten back weight. It’s two putter design elements in one for the best in feel, alignment and traditional beauty.”

Almost every golf ad you see says their product can add distance to your drives. I was very confused when I heard Eidolon Golf make the same claim about their V-Sole Wedges. How can a wedge add yards to your drives? We’re about to find out.
