AP writer Doug Ferguson posted about 20 hours ago the news of a new book soon to hit the shelves by Tiger Woods’s former coach Hank Haney. The book will be titled The Big Miss and will chronicle the six years that Haney spent coaching Tiger Woods from 2004-2010. During that period of time many things happened in Tiger’s world, from winning 29 times (6 majors), getting married, having children, his father’s death, the sex scandal, the divorce, the return.
It will be interesting to see what Haney actually writes about and what he doesn’t. Apparently Haney was one of the few close to Tiger who didn’t sign a nondisclosure agreement.
The book is scheduled to be published on March 27th, 2012. I’ll try to get my hands on an evaluation copy as soon as they’re available to the press and post a review.
Time for a media frenzy to ensue… Tiger Woods announced via his web site that he will make his 2012 PGA Tour debut at the AT&T in Pebble Beach. This is an interesting tournament for Tiger’s “added” 2012 event, since it is a pro-am format for the first portion. I suspect the pro-am format hasn’t been one of Tiger’s favorites, but from a PR standpoint it could help him out to play some golf with a famous personality. I just hope it isn’t George Lopez or I won’t be able to watch at all. The current rumor mill has Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo as Tiger’s partner.
From Tiger’s Web Site: (more…)
Steve Stricker came into round three of the Hyundai Tournament of Champions tonight at Kapalua, Hawaii. That’s where he finished after the third round. Based on how solid his play is, I doubt anyone will catch him. Keep in mind, that there’s one more round to go, MONDAY finish. Yes it will be tough to watch the live golf in prime time tomorrow night since the BCS National Championship game between Alabama and LSU taking place, but that’s what DVRs are for.

Below is the round two leader board of the Hyundai Tournament of Champions in Kapalua, Hawaii. Steve Stricker shot an amazing -10 63 (yes, par-73) and now leads by five shots. Apparently the cortisone shot he got in his neck is helping.
