How Not To Wear Sunglasses
I played 18 holes with this guy (pictured) today. It was very sunny all day.
The ENTIRE 4.5 hours, this dude’s sunglasses were on the back of his bald head and never over his eyes.
Maybe his sunglasses were protecting his cerebellum? Nothing worse than cerebellum burn.
New “How Not To” category added
After seeing two different boneheads during my round today, who were doing two different bonheaded things, I decided I need to add a new category. Yes I already have the very popular and entertaining “boneheads” category, but this concept is a bit different. Hundreds of golf sites have golf instruction and “how to” this and “how to” that. Nobody has a “How not to.” Coming up are my first two installments of “How Not To.”
Friend Dave goes low
I got a great phone call from one of my regular golf buddies today. My pal Dave had just finished a round at our home course from the tips, which is very tough. He’d just dropped a nice little 66.

Florida Gold Premium Habanero Hot Sauce
Note: Because I get so many “food” submissions for the lifestyle section of this blog I’ve decided to start a food site. Some items which appear here may or may not be there or vice versa. That site, whose name will be announced soon, is under development! Stay tuned.
Anyone who knows me knows I’m a connoisseur of hot sauce. I must have 25 bottles of random hot sauce at home at any given time. My most recent devouring was of Florida Gold‘s “Original American” and “Salsa Picante Latin Flavor” premium habanero sauces.
Typically I don’t mind habanero based sauces but prefer the taste of other peppers like jalapenos because they’re a bit sweeter. Most habanero sauces I’ve tried have the same dark taste with mega heat and it is hard to tell them apart. Florida Gold’s sauces do not fall into that category. They have great and unique flavor, as well as the heat which you expect from habaneros.
I sampled two of the three flavors Florida Gold offers. My favorite was the Salsa Picante Latin because it was a bit more fun and flavorful but both sauces were excellent. It took me only two days to polish off both bottles between having them with tortilla chips, tacos and burritos.
Critiques
Loved the sauce, but the Florida Gold web site needs a major overhaul.
Conclusion
Hot sauce isn’t all about heat. If it was just about heat, I’d just hit my taste buds with a blow torch. Florida Gold’s sauces bring heat, but have a unique and fun flavor which makes them stand out over other habanero sauces.
Royal Tees

I’ve been playing with some fun tees lately called Royal Tees. They’re tees shaped like the castle piece of a chess set.
Royal Tee Overview
The Royal Tee is a soft rubber tee which is very flexible. The tee bends away from the club at impact, which reduces spin and resistance and results in longer and straighter drives. The crown of the tee has soft prongs which also help reduce friction.
Sizes
Royal Tees come in four lengths for irons, fairways, woods and driver. The lengths listed below are from ground level to the top of the tee:

Colors
Royal Tees are available in four colors: white, pink, orange and blue.
On the course
I enjoy using my Royal Tees on the course. Perhaps the best advantage of using the Royal Tees is having a consistent teeing height. Once I find the right tee height for the particular club I am using, my shot can be grooved. I achieve consistent ball flight and launch angles.
Royal Tee’s statistics show longer distance and better accuracy with robotic testing as a result of using their tees. I don’t doubt these findings, but I didn’t “gain 20 yards on my drives” when I switched. I’m guessing the consistent ball teeing height is more responsible for my accuracy and distance (and confidence) when on the real course.
Conclusion
Royal Tees are a fun variance to normally drab and boring segment in golf equipment. They’re durable, easy to use and don’t poke holes in your pockets.
