Did you know that the TPC has more than one par-3?! Click to read my Sawgrass review!
When you are done enjoying the TPC Sawgrass photos, check out my TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course review.
I have fond memories of playing the TPC, like dumping a sleeve of the yet to be released new version of the Titleist ProV1’s into the drink on #17. The caddy bailed on me after the 2nd ball. Another fond memory was birdieing the 14th hole, the toughest on the course, after knocking a 7-iron to about three feet. Another fond memory is just standing on the back of the 17th green and looking at the “better than most” putt Tiger Woods made en route to his PLAYERS victory. Tough putt.
You’ll gather this, but the biggest impression I had from playing the TPC Sawgrass, pun intended, was that it is a BIG course. Everything is big from the fairways to the bunkers to the trees to the water hazards and of course, the price to play it.

This week is one of the best of the year, the week the PGA Tour plays THE PLAYERS Championship. Be sure to always write THE PLAYERS in all caps, so you look like you know what you are doing. It is time for (insert cliche) golf’s “5th major,” though personally I’d say it is perhaps golf’s 5th-7th best tournament of the year.
TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course Photos
To start us out this week, click the photo in the upper right to view my TPC Sawgrass Stadium photo gallery. There are currently about 120 photos in there, 99.9% of which I shot. I spent about an hour this morning going through most of them and trying to comment in things like “looking back at 18 tee from 18 fairway” and “17 green from the walkway” etc.
Unfortunately I had to delete the TPC Sawgrass yardage book from the HOG TPC Sawgrass Photo Gallery. The company who made the yardage book requested that I do so. I couldn’t convince the company that being on HOG is bigger and better than anything imaginable in the golf world… Oh well. So you’ll have to find that information elsewhere. My apologies.
BUT, I do have a bunch of my own photographs of the TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course which I gave myself permission to publish. There are about 120 images in the gallery. Check them all out in the HOG TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course Image Gallery.

I’ve been saving this one, my review of TPC Sawgrass, until the right time. Obviously the week of THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP is a great time to post it. This piece could shape up to be the longest one I’ve ever written and for good reason. There’s a lot to tell.
I was at the PGA Show Friday doing my thing, interviewing people and checking out all the gear. I was talking to Fuzzy Zoeller when my phone rang. Obviously when you are talking to Fuzzy Zoeller, whoever is calling can go to voicemail. When I checked the message it was my buddy Eddie from Black Mesa in New Mexico. His message, “Hey Tony we’re here at the show. Come over and visit us at the food court. We’re playing TPC Sawgrass tomorrow and we have an open spot. Did you bring your clubs?”
I had goose bumps. One second I was planning on a busy Saturday at the show, complete with interviews of Ian Poulter and Erica Blasberg. The next second I knew I was going to be blowing off Ian and Erica and playing one of those “must play” courses of a lifetime.
UPDATE: At the request of the copyright holders I’ve removed the images of the yardage book…
While you are watching THE PLAYERS this week you may want to look at a particular hole and get some info. I’ve scanned the ENTIRE TPC Sawgrass yardage book for that reason! Inside you’ll find all the holes, the course routing, yardages, suggested play and even a diagram of the practice range! Check it out here or by clicking the images below.
