Fred Couples’ Streak Is Over :: Other big names GONE

Today Fred Couples finished at +4 for the Masters Tournament. He missed a birdie putt on #18 by an inch, which would have gotten him into the weekend. Instead he missed the cut and his consecutive cuts made streak is over.

Other notable players who didn’t make the cut: Aaron Baddely, Ernie Els, Sergio Garcia, Charles Howell III, Rory Sabbatini (aw shucks), Aquaman, Scott Verplank.

I’ll be posting the whole leaderboard in the next post.

11:15AM ET: Brandt Snedeker is off to a great start with birdies on 2, 6 and 7. He’s got the lead now at -6.

1:00PM ET: Trevor Immelman goes into #18 at -7 with the lead. Flesch and Ames are in the house with -5 and -4 respectively. Phil Mickelson is at -4 after 8 holes. Tiger Woods has yet to tee off.

1:18: Calc is having some apparel and hazard issues. #12 is destroying Marc Calcavecchia. He’s gone in the water twice and now is throwing a FIT on the 12th green. He couldn’t get his ball marker out of his pocket and his hand was stuck. He may have ripped his pants having a tantrum violently getting his marker out of his pocket. His tees and random items from his pocket ended up on the green. He made a quadruple bogey and then disgustedly threw his ball back in the water. His pocket does look to be ripped now.

During the Calc “event” Tim Clark’s tee ball ended up in a tree about 20 feet up, nestled in the middle of some pine cones.

1:45: Adam Scott was over the #13 green. He putted onto the green and all the way off the front into the hazard. Man can you imagine how bad a 15 handicapper would play in these conditions? Adam doubled. Phil is -4 and safely on the green at #12. Retief Goosen reached #13 in two and made eagle to get to -4.

2:13: Tiger woods makes birdie on #1. Phil Mickelson hit another bad approach on #13 and miraculously didn’t go in the hazard a 2nd day in a row. He’s got a slick downhill birdie putt, rather than hitting his 4th shot after dropping. Lucky boy.
