Welcome to the best week in golf, Masters week! The best part of the Masters tournament isn’t the incredible golf course or the amazing competition, or the traditions. Noooo. The best part is the apparel scripting. Today I have a Hooked on Golf Blog exclusive apparel script for Sergio Garcia and his wife Angela, the 2018 Masters Nappy Scripting.
This is truly “a nappy script like no other.” I love how the script pays some respect to Augusta National’s security team, the course, his friend Rickie Fowler, and Tiger Woods. Well played. FORE!
Stay tuned for more exclusive HOG Masters coverage.
You heard it first from Hooked on Golf Blog. Everyone thought Phil Mickelson was crazy when he put two drivers into play at the 2006 Masters. One driver was draw biased for left-to-right holes, and was fade biased for right-to-left holes (remember he’s left handed).
Connections close to Hooked on Golf Blog have told me, under condition of anonymity, that Phil will be gaming three drivers at the 2018 Masters Tournament. The first two are fade and draw biased like before. The third driver is “straight biased.” It goes straight. This will be good for some of the more straight holes like the 7th, 15th and 17th holes.
Phil will be removing his gap wedge to make room for the third driver.
Stay tuned to Hooked on Golf Blog this whole week for more Masters news, Augusta National course information, apparel scripting, Masters betting odds, and apparel scripting analysis.

I’m very “connected” in the golf world, one might say. Through my connections I’ve had the opportunity to break a lot of inside information which I’m happy to post here. I’ve just gotten some information about a new technique which will be used at Augusta National in future bunker updates. It’s a special form of bunker wall reinforcement code named “old sign.”
Augusta National Golf Club closes for the summer. It’s just too hot and humid. During that time the first implementations of “old sign” will be done. I’m told the first will be the front bunker on the par-3 12th hole, known as “Golden Bell.”
I hope you’ve enjoyed this exclusive inside Masters information. Stay tuned for more as the Tournament gets closer.
Day three of the golf buddy trip Ryder Cup competition in Mesquite, Nevada this past weekend was at Falcon Ridge Golf Club. I had not played there for many years. Falcon Ridge has some, shall we say, “extreme” holes similar to nearby Wolf Creek. There are also some Mickey Mouse holes (as described by a member of our group) which would make golf architecture purists reach for a barf bag. Overall it is a fun play though.
Below, a par-5 on the back which has a massive elevation drop. The photo does not capture how big the drop is. Mega air time.
Below: a panorama of the par-3 2nd hole.
