Leaving sunflower seed hulls on the greens is a prime example of how not to be considerate of other golfers.
Please, please do not discard your sunflower seed hulls on the greens! It is completely LAME to do that, as other golfers have to pick them up to prevent them from knocking their putts off line.
If you run a golf shop or the food and beverage of a golf course, do not carry sunflower seeds in the hull. If you must carry sunflower seeds, make sure they are the kind with the seed removed!!!
Thanks in advance.
A while back I posted an incredible piece of golf blogging and writing genius, with my review of the Potty Putter. Being the authentic golf blogger I am, I didn’t post a promotional photo from the makers of Potty Putter. Instead, I posted a photo of myself using the unit.
A few months later I head into the bathroom at the local muni course. Up on the bulletin board above the urinals is my photo, testing out the Potty Putter.
After six years of perfecting my craft, I may have reached the golf blog precipice. The peak. The summit.
Not Done Yet
I’m not done yet. Can I push the limits, the boundaries of journalistic excellence even higher? I know it will be difficult, but I’ll be trying my best. I’ll be working hard to become even better at golf blogging.
Stay tuned.
I was hanging out in the office of my good friend (a.k.a. Director of Golf at my home course). He showed me an email he’d gotten from a guy who wanted to book a golf travel package with him. They were willing to “pre pay” for 10 people, including hotel rooms and who knows what else. This would all be paid in advance, but since they were based outside of the USA, we’d have to process the payment for other parts of their travel and “reimburse” their agent who was booking the travel. They would allow us to charge $10,000 or something like that for the hotel, golf and transportation but we needed to wire them the difference of the travel/golf back to them, about $3,000. Uh yeah right.
What this guy booking the travel failed to realize, was that he was willing to book travel to our course when it would be closed for winter, when it has two feet of snow covering it.
That was about a month ago.
Today I received the same solicitation through the HOG contact form, even though I’m not even a “golf course.” Obviously these scammers are scouring the net hoping they can get some bonehead to bite.
I really hope none of you directors of golf, or course operators are dumb enough to fall for a scam like this. Just in case you are I’m posting the entire email below in quotes. I’m also leaving their email address too, in hopes that they get picked up by all the spam bots and get added to all the porn lists. May their in box be full of the same sort of junk they’re sending out!
Forget golf for a minute. Tomorrow is the biggest home game in Utah football history. 5th ranked (8-0) Utah will be hosting 3rd ranked TCU (7-0) in an epic college football showdown.
I’ll be there early, as ESPN’s “Game Day” broadcast will be happening in the west parking lot of the stadium.
If anyone is going to be at the game, come early and fine me in the tailgate lot. I’ll be making seriously kick ass fajitas.
The winner of this game will be on pace for a BCS busting season, and nobody busts the BCS better than Utah with a 2-0 BCS record. Not bad for a team which isn’t in the BCS, at least until next year when we join the PAC-10.
GO UTES!!!!
