I’m continuing on with my posting of new images of TaylorMade’s 2011 product line, from my pal Phil the local TaylorMade rep.
Burner Superfast White Fairway Metal
Is that a long enough description for a fairway metal? I really like the top line view and how clean looking it is. Click the image to view a few more shots of this baby and the new TaylorMade R11 driver and fairway.
About 20 years ago while skiing with my cousin at Alta, I did a feat nobody had ever done before, and survived. From the top of Mt. Baldy, I fell 1100 feet down one of the “Baldy Chutes,” got up and skied away with only a dislocated shoulder. The Baldy Chutes are narrow and rock lined tubes in the mountain with a very extreme vertical drop. The entrance of the chutes is off of a cornice which is higher than 11,000 feet. My feat of “living” through falling the entire length of the chute made me a legend at Alta for years go come.
Yesterday I sustained my 2nd skiing injury at Alta, and this one is also a shoulder. Unfortunately I’m not adding to the legend of my insane yard sale crash of 20 years ago. Yesterday I crashed hard, separating my shoulder in no other place than the parking lot. I was skiing to my car to leave for the day, when I hit a small bump and both my skis came off. I hit the sheet of ice with my entire (massive) body weight smashing my shoulder.
I’m now in a sling. I can’t currently do many simple things like putting a shirt on or opening a jar of peanut butter.
I’ll blog the best I can with one hand. Needless to say, next week’s PGA Show will be a true test of my one-armed patience.
I’m very sad to be missing “The Battle of the Blogs” golf outing with eight other great golf bloggers in Orlando after the PGA Show as well. BOO HOO.
To go with my previous post about the new TaylorMade R11 white driver, here’s the TaylorMade Burner TP white driver. TP stands for “Tour Preferred” and is very spendy. You can tell the TP models by the little TP emblem you see on the toe of the club head.
Yesterday I ran into My buddy Phil, the local TaylorMade sales representative. He was making the rounds to all of the local dealers, showing them the hot new lines for 2011 including the white R11 drivers and fairways. I managed to get them in my hands long enough to take a few pictures.
Below is the new R11 white driver. I was quite surprised at how sharp looking this club was in person. Click the photo to see more images of the R11 driver in the HOG TaylorMade photo album.
Davis Love III - 2012 USA Ryder Cup Team Captain
As I previously posted back on December 16th of last year, Davis Love III has officially been named captain of the 2012 Ryder Cup USA team.
Big year for Davis so far. First he switched equipment and now Ryder Cup captain.
There has been no official word yet on what rain gear DLIII will choose for team USA.
The 2012 Ryder Cup will be held at Medinah Country Club, near Chicago, IL.
