I can’t help thinking of Terminator whenever I see the BagBoy “T-2000” name. There was the Cyberdyne Systems Model 101, the, T-800, T-850, T-1000 and now the BagBoy T-2000 golf travel bag.
“I need your shoes, your clothes and your motorcycle.”
Does this bag protect my golf clubs while traveling like a Terminator would? Lets find out. (more…)

I have a few previous articles related to THE PLAYERS that I’d like to refer HOG readers to. First is my TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course review, which I posted back in May of 2009. That piece is one of my longest course reviews ever, clocking in at over 3,000 words. I tried to convey the whole experience of playing there from the locker room to the pro shop to gagging a sleeve of brand new Titleist ProV1’s into the drink on the island green at #17.
I also have quite a large TPC Sawgrass Stadium Course photo gallery. Every hole is there along with the clubhouse and practice facilities. Roughly 120 photos.
Best 10 Holes Of Ball Striking Ever, While Injured
Yesterday (Sunday) I had my now weekly grudge match. The Sunday game is a foursome which includes the director of golf at my home course, me and two brothers. The two brothers are very entertaining. One of the two is a senior player, but possibly the most consistent player and best putter I’ve ever played against. This guy is deadly, though he’s 30 yards shorter than me. Not all about length.
We took our grudge match to a cool course next to Utah Lake called Talon’s Cove. Talon’s Cove can play very tough if you don’t hit the tee ball straight. There are links style rolling hills everywhere, but the rough is FAR deeper than that of Scotland. Miss a fairway and you’ll be lucky to even find your ball. If you do, you are looking at bogey or worse.
After starting with a bogey on the first hole I plugged along to hole #6, where I hit a poor tee shot. I ended up in the greenside bunker, short left of this par-3 green. The sand was as hard as Interstate 15. I hit my bunker shot to about 30 feet. I showed the guys how hard the sand was by pounding the back of my wedge into the ground. Right when I did that, something very bad happened. I knew it the second I felt it. I pinched a nerve in my lower spine which sent an electric shock to my lower back. I then felt the tingling of the muscle tissue around the nerve, which was beginning to spasm. I knew what I was in for. Soon I’d need help putting my own socks on. My back was toast. (more…)
Review: Tattoo Golf OB Golf Polo
Tattoo Golf OB Polo Ensemble - Ya gotta to have the body for it...
Take a close look at the Hooked On Golf Blog logo and you’ll see quite a resemblance to the Tattoo Golf logo. Being a rock & roll drummer who loves metal, a “golf skull” seemed like a perfect logo for my golf blog here. Naturally my path crossed with my now long time pals at Tattoo Golf, who bring a rock & roll edge complete with their golf skull logo, to golf accessories and apparel.
OB Polo
This week I’m reviewing the very cool Tattoo Golf OB Polo. This is a fine golf polo with a very breathable textured microfiber knit fabric. The shirt “wicks” moisture away from your body, keeping you cool. Mine keeps me cool even though it is black.
The material in the shirt is a doubly poly mesh which is very light at 4.5 ounces. Sleeves on the shirt feature double-needle seams in the arms shoulders and sleeves for extra durability.
Best of all the features though, are the brilliant “cascading skulls.” I dream of cascading skulls. On the back of the shirt there’s one single “skull and golf club cross bones” screen with a fine Tattoo Golf script underneath (pictured below). Fantastic. (more…)
