This review took an interesting turn as I started writing it. In my reviews I always refer to the manufacturer’s web site for technical information about the product, sizes, colors, features etc. It was at that point that I realized I’d only been getting half of what I could out of the InReverse golf polo by Quagmire Golf. I didn’t even realize the shirt was reversible!
InReverse Overview
InReverse is a golf polo made from 100% polyester. Love it. Easy to care for. Resists wrinkling.
As stated in the name, the shirt is reversible. One side is a plain color and the other side features an argyle pattern.
The fabric of the polo naturally wicks moisture, keeping the wearer dry. That is becoming more and more important as the temps here in my home town will be reaching 90+ this weekend. (more…)
I’ve got two good friends in the golf blogging world who have recently authored golf books. How cool is that? The time and effort it takes to write a book must be huge and I tip my hat to my buddies Neil Sagebiel at Armchair Golf Blog and John Retzer at Golf Blogger. I’ve known both of these gentlemen for years and they are the real deal.
The Five Inch Course
John Retzer’s book is titled The Five Inch Course: Thinking Your Way To Better Golf. Via the previous link or by clicking the image to the right you can purchase it through Amazon. I have an e-copy of this book and I’ll be plowing through it very soon for a review here on HOG.
I know I’m capable of playing good golf, but my brain gets in the way. Hope John’s book can help.
With Father’s Day coming up, this would be a good gift idea.
The Longest Shot
Neil Sagebiel’s book is titled The Longest Shot: Jack Fleck, Ben Hogan, and Pro Golf’s Greatest Upset at the 1955 U.S. Open. Click the previous link or the image right to purchase on Amazon. Neil’s book was released this past week. The timing is perfect for this subject as the U.S. Open is returning to Olympic Club where Fleck upset Ben Hogan 57 years ago.
I can’t wait to read this one. As soon as I do I’ll post a review here on HOG as well.
Once again, another great Father’s Day golf gift.
Congratulations
Congratulations to my two friends on the accomplishments! I’m very impressed. You must be very proud. Perhaps we can do a little interview about the books?
Well played!
Back in 2011 John Ashworth created Linksoul as a classy and alternative golf lifestyle brand. The designs are simple and elegant, some retro or old school and some with a hint of European styling. According to brand PR Linksoul is for “style-conscious men seeking a comfortable alternative to ‘golf uniform’ technical pieces.'” Yeah, that’s what I was going to say.
One of those alternatives to golf uniform technical pieces is the Linksoul LS101 one-pocket cotton golf polo shirt.
Looks
I don’t know how one clothing designer can take a black polo and make it look better than another designer, but that’s just the case here. This shirt is very classy and unique looking, though it is very simple.
Critiques
I usually like to post a “sizes/colors” paragraph in my apparel reviews. I was unable to determine the sizes and colors which are available in this model. The John Ashworth web site has a fancy “look book” with a bunch of artsy photos, but no nuts and bolts info about the products such as available sizes and colors. I’m not as into the fancy presentation as I am into being able to get to the meat of the content.
On The Course
The cotton fabric of this polo is extremely soft and smooth. The shirt feels light on the body and breathes well. The comfort level is fantastic.
During the golf swing the shirt is great. There are no tight areas, no binding, no pulling. The swing is not restricted. It is hard enough to hit a good shot without having an apparel item mess with the golf swing!
Conclusion
The Linksoul one-pocket polo is a great cotton golf shirt and provides everything one would want from a polo including comfort, performance, classy and unique styling.

I just saw that my friends at Black Mesa Golf Club posted a video of yours truly on their YouTube channel. This was following a week of playing the course for a recent media trip. I love that place and the people there, and want to get back as soon as possible. Come with me?
