Personally I’m still suffering from Ryder Cup hangover. But the Tour rolls on and is in Vegas this week. I could drive to Vegas in about 5 hours. Maybe one of these years I’ll head to this event. It would be hard to resist golfing somewhere else though, rather than watching golf.
This week is the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospital for Children Open at TPC Summerlin. I’ve played TPC Summerlin. Fun track. I still have my “TPC” plastic beer cups from there. Ah the memories.
JT Shriners TV Schedule
Thu, 10/4: GOLF 4p – 7p ET
Fri, 10/5: GOLF 4p – 7p ET

The Champions Tour is playing the SAS Championship in Cary, North Carolina. Most of the big names are playing this week. TV is Golf Channel Friday-Sunday, 7:30-9:30PM ET.
The European Tour is contesting the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship at St. Andrews. Here’s a good chance to watch some great players play on the greatest golf course in the world. Unfortunately, this tournament does not appear to be available in the USA. If you find it on TV here, comment in and I’ll post the time and channel.
LPGA
The ladies are off this week, back on next week.
These are a bit hard to find, but I’ve found the perfect ball for my game.

Final 2012 Fantasy Golf Update
The 2012 HOG Space fantasy golf season came to a close last week at the TOUR Championship. Yes there are a few more Tour events and you are welcome to continue to make your picks through the fall series, but the final results and winners have been determined!
Who gets the killer VR_S Irons frome Nike Golf or the apparel makeover from FootJoy? See final table of results below. This has been a fun year of fantasy golf, with a lot of new blood and new winners to go with the long time HOG Space fantasy golf veterans. I appreciate all your participation in the league and look forward to next year.
Next Season
I plan on making some changes for next season, so please feel free to chime in and let me know how things could be improved or what you’d like to see done differently. If you’d like to sponsor next season’s fantasy golf with prizes, let me know.
Thanks Sponsors
Part of what makes this league the best fantasy golf league around is the great prizes. I want to personally thank each and every sponsor: Nike Golf, Bridgestone Golf, FootJoy, Champ Spikes and Sun Mountain. Without your great prizes the league would not be what it is. You have my gratitude. Let’s talk about next year!
Please Claim Prizes ASAP
Use the site contact form here, Facebook or TheGolfSpace.com‘s message system to contact me for claiming your prize. I’ve shipped out most of the weekly prizes from the season, but there are a few stragglers who haven’t sent in their info. Final date to claim prizes will be November 30, 2012. Any unclaimed prizes beyond that point will be donated to junior golf, or used as other prizes for future site contests/giveaways. (more…)
I had the pleasure of taking a trip up to the northwest last month. I toured around the fine city of Seattle, Washington as well as going up into Vancouver, BC, Canada. I’d heard of a cool new course up there called Salish Cliffs and made arrangements to play the course. Very happy I did. You can read my review of Salish Cliffs here. While there I stayed at Little Creek Resort in Shelton, Washington. This is a resort/casino owned by the Squaxin Island Tribe, the native people of South Puget Sound. Today I’m reviewing the resort. Let’s go.
Location
Little Creek Resort is located about 1.5 hours southwest of Seattle in the town of Shelton, Washington, just off of highway 101. The resort is a short drive northwest of Olympia, Washington.
The area is mountainous, with very dense forest and beautiful pines. The air is fresh and the area is very quiet. No traffic, noises or pollution. This is a great place to get away from the concrete jungle.
Lodging
The resort is impressive. One of the nicest and largest indian reservation casino resorts I’ve seen. The rooms are new and clean, and very spacious.
There are four types of lodging options at Little Creek:
General Property
The resort’s construction, architecture and interior design is quite impressive, much more on the inside than the outside. The hotel lobby area is beautiful, with a large atrium going up five floors. (more…)
I’ll admit that I’m not a fan of golf sites whose only attraction for members/readers is giving away free golf gear. We know who they are. I haven’t done many contests over the the last 8+ years because I believe that great content will win over readers and I stand behind that. I’ve turned down many offers to give away stuff. Apparel company Energy Athletic approached me with an offer of giving away some of their cool golf polos and I initially said no. But they were persistent. We discussed ways of doing a contest which would be fun and different than those other sites. I like the point which came up in our talks which was, “why not reward HOG fans for being HOG fans?”
Facebook Photo Contest
I’m going to award FOUR Energy Athletic shirts to the four best photos submitted to the Hooked On Golf Blog Facebook page. You’ll have to “like” the page of course, then you can post an image to the HOG timeline. We are looking for “energetic” golf photos, to go with the Energy Athletic theme. I’m anxious to see what kind of fun pics we see, and hope that we get a good number of submissions. Post a photo and have a great shot at a free shirt, which is charged with negative ions by the way. See the review link below. (more…)
