Today is America’s birthday.  I’m celebrating this great day by playing a round of golf at Kingsbarns in Scotland!  Yeah, it doesn’t make any sense…  Happy birthday USA!

Good morning from St. Andrews!  Not much time to write anything because my buddies and I are golfing as much as possible!  Played the Castle Course and New Course (1895) yesterday.  Looking forward to playing the Fairmont Torrance Course and the Old Course today!

Lots of rain on day two. Yes my apparel does not match. View of St. Andrews in background from the Castle Course.

Check back soon!

I’m SO tired.  I’ve gone the last 30 hours with one weak hour of sleep on the plane from Philly to Scotland.  We arrived in Glasgow this morning at 8:00 a.m. and managed to get a two-ball on the Old Course with me and my best bud Al at 12:40. My game was not good and I struggled in the 3-club wind.  Still it was fantastic.  Great to be back “home” in the Home of Golf.

Heading to the Home of Golf AGAIN!

Wow I’m a little buggered.  Tearful goodbyes with the lovely lass and the wee baby Seve this morning.

Greetings from the lounge in the Salt Lake City International Airport.  I’m awaiting my flight to Philadelphia, the first leg of two in my trip to Scotland.  I’m pretty jacked up right now, not from the XXL latte but from pure golf adrenaline.  In about 16 hours I’ll be landing in Glasgow with my best friend, and another 2.5 hours from then arriving in St. Andrews.  HOPEFULLY a few hours after that we’ll be teeing off on the Old Course.

Stay tuned all this week for photos and updates from the Home of Golf.

Sun Mountain Micro-Cart Sport

Four-wheeling it, literally. Click to zoom…

Ever been to Missoula, Montana?  It is a nice, quiet place with great wilderness and fresh air.  I think that fresh air is very beneficial to the genius designers at Sun Mountain, because they come up with some of the most fabulous golf gear!  Case in point is the Micro Cart Sport, four wheel golf push cart.  Let’s take a detailed look.

Micro Cart Sport Overview

The Micro Cart Sport is a four wheeled golf push cart.  Funny, I accidentally typed “posh” cart in the previous sentence.  That’s what it is, posh: elegant, chic, stylish, swell, swanky, upper class.

The “micro” part of the name must come from the size of the unit when it is folded up for storage in the car trunk or garage.  The folded dimensions are a wee 24.5″ X 16″ X 12″.

Having a cart like this for me is great.  I have a bad back but I want to walk the course.  I can easily push this cart around and enjoy one of the best (or worst depending on how I’m playing) walks there is, golf.

Features

The Micro cart is loaded with features.  Here’s a bullet list:

  • 4 wheel design for stability and easy pushing
  • Folds to a 24.5″ X 16″ X 12″ package
  • Folds and unfolds in less than five seconds
  • Included umbrella holder keeps player and clubs dry
  • Sporty colors
  • Adjustable handle for players of varying height
  • Strong magnetic scorecard holder
  • Large valuables holder with clear frosted plastic.  See your golf GPS or phone through the plastic without opening lid
  • Extendable front axle to accommodate large golf bags
  • Micro-Paq storage area
  • Hand brake on handle

Video

This video below is from my review of the Sun Mountain Micro Cart (not the sport version).  This shows the basics of how easy it is to fold up and unfold.  The action is the same with both models.

Colors

There are four color variations: Lime, yellow, pink, red.  I chose red (pictured) for my Utah Utes.

On The Course

I’m thrilled with my Sun Mountain Micro Cart.  It pushes easily, even when I have about 100+ ounces of water and sports drinks to weather the 100+ degree temperatures of summers here at home.

The unit folds to such a small size I actually thought I’d lost it in my van.  It was in front of the seat.  They say the mind is the first thing to go.

The Micro-Paq storage area is great.  It holds drinks, golf balls, apparel items and all the cash I win from my opponents.

Critiques

I have no critiques because this push cart is 100% awesome.

Conclusion

If you saw how many push carts I have in my garage you’d think you were in the cart barn of a golf clubhouse.  I have many.  The Sun Mountain Micro Cart Sport is THE best four wheel golf push cart on this planet and might be the best on other planets too, but since I haven’t been to any other planets I can’t really say…
