St. Andrews, Scotland – click to zoom

I’m groggily typing today as my journey from St. Andrews to home took over 26 hours yesterday. I had a three hour flight delay in Philly which added salt to the injury of not only traveling for so long, but travelling from golf mecca.

I shot 996 photos while in Scotland. A few might even be good. I’ll be posting more soon.

I will do some recaps of my experiences at various courses shortly as well.

I’m very tired and will surely be suffering from jetlag as the week progresses. My calves are completely knotted up from walking over 80 miles of fairways this past week on ground as hard as the freeway.

The experiences I had last week with friends, in such a special place, will not be forgotten. Stay tuned for recaps shortly.

Hooked On Golf Blog World Tour Heading Home From Scotland

Hello from the Philadelphia airport.  I’m back on US soil.  Quite frankly, I’d rather be on Scottish soil!

HOG World Tour Rolls Through Crail, Scotland!

I’ve had one hell of a week playing seven golf courses, nine rounds and a total of 164 holes with my buddies “The Lads.”  Here’s the course list:

  • The Old Course (twice)
  • The New Course (1895)
  • Kingsbarns Golf Links
  • Carnoustie Golf Links
  • Balcomie Golf Links
  • Fairmont St. Andrews Torrance Course
  • Castle Course (twice)

Between all the golf and all the pubs and meals, I didn’t get back to my lodging until the “wee” hours each night and therefore had no time to write posts.  I will be doing a recap of the rounds/courses/days during the next week or so.

The Old Course at sunset! Doesn’t get any better…

Also be sure to watch for new photos which I’ll be adding to the HOG golf photo gallery, specifically from Carnoustie, Crail/Balcomie and some fresh images from Kingsbarns, Castle and of course the Old Course.

A quick check-in.  I’m just out the door to head up to the “world’s most difficult golf course” Carnoustie.  Over under on my score as a 3.1 handicap?

In the mean time, here’s a picture of the Old Course at St. Andrews I shot last night at close to sunset.  Beautiful.
