Man do I have a treat for you!
Today I sat down for a chat with my buddy Bob at the driving range shack of one of my home courses: River Oaks http://www.thegolfspace.com/riveroaks
Bob is my buddy who has had the privilege of attending the Masters for roughly 30 years. He was going to take me this year but lost his tickets. I made it through suicide watch…
I recorded our conversation to bring home and type up some good Masters nuggets. He gave me so many good nuggets I decided this is a good time for the first HOGCAST. (HogCast=Hooked On Golf Blog Podcast).
This first HogCast is 12 minutes of Bob and I talking Masters. We cover Greg Norman, Freddy, Faldo, Weiskopf, Arnold Palmer, Augusta holes #12 and #13 and part one of player’s wives getting mad. Its my first podcast and though I’m a professional audio engineer I just haven’t had the time to put fancy intro and outro music in. That will come.
I set up HOG Podcasting on iTunes but due to inactivity iTunes canned it. I’ll work on getting it set back up.

Augusta National #13 Tee Trivia
Did you know that in order to extend Augusta’s #13 Tee another 40 or so yards years ago, Augusta National had to buy the land from the nearby Augusta Country Club?
In this post I announced the newest nugget to come out of my cranium: The Golf Space.
The Golf Space is a “networking” site geared toward golf. Networking in this sense refers to the connection of friends, businesses and business associates. In short it’s golf’s version of myspace.
Today is the “grand opening” of this new site and I’d like to invite you all to drop in for a glass of virtual champagne. It’s Dom, the good stuff. Nothing but the best for my friends!
I’ve had a great response already from bloggers and golf forums. The site is about networking in the golf world and The Golf Space itself is already forming it’s own network in the form of affiliates and sites who link there.
Now on to Masters talk…
My buddies at TM/Adidas sent me the info on Sergio’s new green shoes. These babies look pretty cool. I hope they are as comfortable as they are cool looking. (I wouldn’t know, haven’t tried them).
Sergio will be wearing these fancy green shoes on Sunday at the Masters.
One question though…what if he misses the cut?
What a great final round at the Kraft Nabisco today on the LPGA Tour.
There were several players in contention including Michelle Wie, Karrie Webb, Natalie Gulbis and Lorena Ochoa.
At the start of the back 9 it was looking like a duel between Wie and Ochoa when they were both tied for the lead a -8. But on the 18th hole Karrie Webb holed out her 3rd shot on the par 5 for eagle to post -9. It was an amazing shot.
Wie and Ochoa had to make birdie on 18 to go into a playoff. Both went for the green in two and made it. Wie was just on the back fringe after knocking a 5 iron over the green from 200.
Wie’s error
Wie was on the fringe and should have putted the ball and ensured a birdie and a playoff. Instead she decided to chip and played a way too aggressive shot, sending it far enough by that she two putted and missed the playoff.
Ochoa didn’t make that mistake and did make the playoff.
On the first playoff hole Ochoa and Webb were over the green in two. Ochoa had a much easier chip than Webb but Webb put it closer and made the putt for birdie and the victory.
This was a much more interesting round of golf to watch than the Phil Mickelson trouncing of the field at the Bell South.
