Michelle Wie makes the cut on the Asian Tour. zzzzzzzz

In this post I ranted a bit about how I really don’t care about Michelle Wie playing in, or making the cut in an Asian Tour event.

Well she finally did make the cut in a men’s event. OK. She’s done that. Now can she please refocus her game on WINNING AN LPGA EVENT?

If you put Annika or a handful of many other LPGA players in that field they’d make the cut too.

Next stop for Michelle is to win the club champ at my home club’s men’s association. She could then have a “victory in a men’s field.”

Hootie stepping down at Augusta National

No more Hootie. He’s stepping down as chairman of Augusta National, home of the worlds best golf tournament. He’s being replaced by Billy Payne.

I’ll miss the dry, snobbish replies Hootie gave to the press when they asked questions that were over the line in his mind. I’ll miss the uncomfortable “here they come now” moments in Butler Cabin.

Hopefully Billy is a fireball like Hootie. I wonder what his take on a “Masters Ball” is…

Playing in a 27 hole member/guest with my pop today at his club. This is one of the funnest tournaments of the year for me and the killer hot dogs are worth the price of admission…

The weater stinks though. It’s cold and wet.

A report will follow.

Wie trying to make the cut in a men’s tournament…. who cares? BFD.

Michelle Wie is trying to make the cut in a men’s event. She’s only two shots behind Singh…. Jeev Milka Singh from India that is.

It’s the Asian tour’s SK Telecom Open.

I’ve looked through the field. There a lot of incredible players like Keuk-chun Bang, Phadungsil Chinarat, Dong-sub Mang, Chapchai Nirat and many more. What a field.

Clearly this will be a huge break through for Wie to make the cut in such an important event with such a stellar field. Making the cut in this world class event would be much better for her career than WINNING A FREAKING TOURNAMENT ON THE LPGA TOUR.

PUHLEASE!!! Who is suggesting you play these events Michelle? He should be fired and you should concentrate on winning one teensy weensy tournament on the LPGA tour. Just one.

www.TheGolfSpace.com one month birthday/report

The Golf Space golf networkingMy latest golf/web creation, The Golf Space, is now one month old. The Golf Space is a social networking site primarily for golfers, golf courses and people or companies in the golf business. The full description is in this post.

Month one report, stats etc.

The Golf Space has had 374 members sign up in the first month of operation. That is awesome.

Over 23,000 unique visitors visited the site in the first month. Unique visitors are different and much more important than “hits.” The hit number would be several times the visit number.

Site authors and/or users posted 240 news articles or blogs with the built in user blog system.

Members submitted 49 golf related web links to their own sites or golf related sites they like. Any member may submit links to the links section.

The Golf Space User MenuTGS users created 51 of their own photo galleries and they posted 316 photos which have been viewed over 3000 times.

The most viewed profile is some hack named Tony at http://www.thegolfspace.com/tonyViewed over 700 times. (Helps to be the site admin I guess). Too bad they’re not all hot golfer chicks wanting a date or some very personal swing instruction…

The user with the most friends/connections is GolfDiscussions with 118.

New feature: Online personal golf records

A newer feature I’ve implemented to The Golf Space is personal golf records for each user. In the user’s profile the latest rounds of that user can be seen.

Since I put in this new custom feature a couple of weeks ago there have been 81 rounds entered into the score keeper.

I’m working on a full blown stats/handicap engine for the site which I’ll install as soon as I can.

Affiliations

TGS has made affiliations with several other golf sites and many golf companies already. That’s what networking is all about. Contact me to become an affiliate!

Conclusion/Future

I’d say it was an awesome first month. Many golf blogging friends have been kind enough to mention TGS in blog posts. If you haven’t yet, please spread the word and add The Golf Space to your blogrolls!

I have some new features planned for the future like profile comments, golf stats and more. Stay tuned.
