Oh boy. Look what’s in my bag now!

I didn’t hit the driver well the first few swings yesterday because I was swinging out of my shorts. When I finally calmed down and put some good swings on the thing I blasted it over 310 yards three times. I had pitching wedge and 7-iron into the par-5 13th and 5th holes yesterday. Easy two-putt birdies. I drove the par-4 14th too, but three putted for a freaking par because I was on the wrong tier. I guess I’ll have to start placing my drives on the proper quadrant of the greens on par-4’s now!

I have many images of the Bobby Jones wedges and Bobby Jones driver in the HOG Bobby Jones Gallery.

My MyJoys have arrived!

university of utah golf shoes myjoys footjoyBack in this golf blog post I wrote about the FootJoy MyJoy site where you can build your own golf shoes. After long deliberation I decided to choose shoes with my University of Utah logo.

The shoes arrived and I played my first round with them yesterday. I birdied the first hole and immediately told my pal “gotta be the shoes” and “I’m one under par with these shoes on.” I played a great round, 27 holes at one over par for the day. I was mad on #16, when some inconsiderate jerk hit into our group and his ball HIT my left foot. I could have wrapped my new Bobby Jones driver around his neck for scuffing my brand new MyJoys…

After one round I have to say these MyJoys not only look cool, they’re extremely comfortable!

Tiger Woods fittest guy in America. So are golfers athletes?

john daly fatGolfers are athletes?

Yeah I’m late on the bandwagon on the Tiger Woods fittest guy in America thing. I was in the wilderness hiking and cooking marshmallows over a campfire.

So now that Tiger is the fittest man in America, does this debunk the argument that golfers are not athletes? Or does John Daly debunk the argument that golfers are athletes?

Back from Arches National Park

I’m SO tired. I hiked 20 miles in two days in the hot desert of Arches National Park. Arches National Park is my favorite place on this planet, or any other.

I’m a bit gimpy right now, because of the huge blister on my left foot.

I’m just washing all the sand out of my ears now. But soon I’ll post some details and pictures of my incredible four day excursion!

My sites always go down when I’m out of town

I guess The Golf Space went down for a bit while I was hiking amongst the red rocks. Scruffy (Dan Smith) gets some major kudos (and karma) for helping me out and letting me know the site went down. I was on the road but found a nice place which let me get online to fix up the site and get it back up. Special thanks to the Holiday Inn Express in Moab, Utah. Yes, just like the Holiday Inn Express ads: “How did I get the site back up and running? At a Holiday Inn Express…”

New Bobby Jones clubs

There were some golf clubs on my door step waiting for me when I got back. Can’t wait to tell you about them. Soon to be reviewed will be the new Bobby Jones driver and Bobby Jones wedges!

tattoo golf driver cover

I’m writing this review on my MacBook while in line at the DMV to get my driver’s license renewed. There’s nothing more thilling than seeing that you’re #510 in line and they just called "now serving #137 at window 13."

This is the 3rd and final post in my series on Tattoo Golf head covers. I previously coverered the TG mallet and blade putter covers. Today I’m covering the Tattoo Golf driver cover.

It’s always good to have protection

Golf gear isn’t cheap. Drivers cost $200-$800, with some very high end models costing even more. The covers many of the drivers come with are adequate, but if you’re going to spend $500 on a piece of gear, why not upgrade the cover and protect that investment?
