Guru vs Orlando Golf Blogger

This is a followup to a round of golf I played last month in Orlando at the Disney course Lake Buena Vista. I’ll be doing a review of Lake Buena Vista soon.

Blogger vs Blogger

I’ve had the pleasure of playing golf with a few fellow golf bloggers now. Luke Swilor and I have had some awesome matches. He’s won two and I won the last one.

Last month in Orlando I hooked up with Orlando Golf Blogger Dave Lair. Dave is a very nice cat with a good natural golf swing. His handicap is fairly high right now but I assure you it will be going low if he keeps at it. One problem with Dave is that he is pointing the wrong way. He’s a lefty. 🙂

We decided to play a Nassau style bet. It would be four total $1.00 bets: Front, back, totals and an automatic back press. The format would be match play with handicaps. We had to do handis because the differential in our handicaps was too high.

I played fairly solid for a round on a foreign course and for being so rusty. Dave hit some good shots but had some driving issues which hurt his score and unfortunately for him I won all four bets.

I still have the $4 and I look forward to giving Dave a chance to win it back from me soon!

The Tiger Woods media frenzy is about to begin

The Northern Trust has ended and Phil Mickelson is the winner. That’s golf news for about 42 seconds.

Get ready for more TIger Woods than you can imagine. The Golf Channel (TGC, Tiger Golf Channel, Tiger is God Channel…) and all other golf media outlets are surely about to go into complete Tiger Woods media freak out mode.

Personally, I may just refrain from accessing any TW media until the match play starts this Wednesday…

Fred Couples putting stroke, Northern Trust

I’m trying to watch the finish of the Northern Trust Open on my DVR without finding out who won… Phil Mickelson, Steve Stricker, Rory Sabbatini and Fred Couples are battling it out. Stricker is looking good (especially since he’s on my fantasy team).

I’ve never realized how bad Freddy’s putting can be on short putts. His real stroke is nothing like his practice stroke. I can now understand why he switched to a belly putter. Unfortunately I saw an incoming link to HOG which spoiled part of the outcome stating that Freddy came up short. However it didn’t say who won so I’m still not completely spoiled…

Site tweaks today – RSS feed fixed

If things look strange I’m working on the site. The RSS feed has been broken so I’m trying to fix it. I may change themes a few times to find the error. Stay tuned.

Update: I believe I’ve fixed the HOG RSS Feed now.
