hole in oneI just got a great email from HOG reader Mike Fazio. I doubt he’s related to Tom Fazio, but if he is… we need to talk. Mike is a reader who’s friend just aced a hole. I send my congratulations to Thomas Griesau for doing something only one in 35,000 golfers does. Thomas, please see the your product reviewed section here for my mailing address so you can send me my frosty beverage. I think it is cool and I’m honored that someone takes the time to contact me when an event like this happens!

Here’s Mike’s email:

“Hi Tony,

My name is Mike Fazio and I’ve been reading HOG for quite a few years now. Always great stuff, entertaining, and informative – so Thanks for that!

Anyway, in our golf league on Wednesday night, my good friend Thomas Griesau recorded his first hole in 1 on the 188 Par 3 2nd at Frear Park, Troy NY. He used a driver, hit the ground before the ball sending a low screamer into the hill boarding the green on the left side, from which it kicked off and proceeded to run directly towards the hole. I was on the tee box completely dumbfounded as I watched this ball disappear into the hole. It was the first time I had ever seen one in person.”

golf shortsThere are numerous ways I can make fun of Thomas:

1. Hitting a driver on a par-3? Does your husband play?

2. In the quote by Mike above, this par-3 is 188 yards. So, um, Thomas hits his driver 188 yards? That’s a 6-iron for me.

3.
Thomas needs some serious help in the apparel department. Those shorts must go. While you’re at it, tuck in your shirt!

Hole In One Prize

Guys, I’d like to share in the joy of this occasion. Email me your shipping address and I’ll send you a HOG prize package complete with some very cool HOG golf tees, EEZ-READ green readers and The Ultimate Golf Journal so you can document your game and experiences on the course.
