Tournament Report

The 27 hole tournament yesterday was a lot of fun. At the turn my pop’s club has the best hot dogs on the planet and those alone are worth attending. As it turned out, that was the only reason we did.

For the scramble portion my pop and I didn’t really make any putts except one which was almost impossible. It was a downhill putt of about 30 feet with about 20 feet of break. If my putt didn’t go in, it would have gone off the green. We shot 34 on that nine.

On the best ball nine I had three birdies and shot even par on my own ball. We couldn’t take advantage of my pop’s 17 handicap much and shot 34.

The alternate shot nine is where we lost the tournament. Alternate shot is brutal and there is a ton of pressure for you to hit good shots so you don’t leave your partner on an island by himself. We made some mistakes, missed some easy putts and shot six over gross on that nine. The alternate shot is where we’re really at a disadvantage with a high ‘capper.

We finished six shots out of the money and eight shots from 1st.
