I was going to type some Masters triva here. Then I decided to make it a quiz. Let’s do 10 questions. Comment in your answers (no cheating). The prize? Bragging rights I suppose.
1. Who won the most Masters tournaments?
2. Name a player who won the The Masters on his first try.
3. Who won The Masters by the widest margin and how much was it?
4. Who overcame the biggest 54 hole deficit to win The Masters?
5. Who has won The Masters two years in a row?
6. Who designed Augusta National and what year did it open?
7. Who lost the largest 54 hole lead?
8. Who has the most 2nd place finishes?
9. Who had the highest winning score?
10. Who had the lowest winning score?
Bonus:
What is the lowest total score in Wednesday’s par 3 contest?

Give me the fresh air, a beautiful partner, and a nice round of golf, and you can keep the fresh air and the round of golf.

OK, I don’t mind embarrassing myself. I’ll take a crack at it.
1. Nicklaus (4) — and I think Palmer won 4 also.
2. Fuzzy Zoeller.
3. I think Ray Floyd (or perhaps Tiger in ‘97). By around 8-12 shots.
4. I’m going to say Nick Faldo when he beat Norman. (But maybe Gary Player?)
5. I’m stumped. Someone a long time ago.
6. A guy named McKenzie (not sure if that’s spelled correctly). 1934?
7. Greg Norman.
8. Tom Weiskopf.
9. No idea. Sandy Lyle?
10. Tiger Woods.
If I did well, I didn’t look anything up. If I did poorly, I didn’t look anything up.

OK, I was haunted by my answer to No. 1. (I thought, that can’t be right — Nicklaus won 18 majors.) So I’d like to change my answer on No. 1 to Nicklaus, 6 wins.

How about this question for the Masters quiz:
In the past 30 years which 2 Masters champions have been named as inventors on golf product related patents?
