Lucky Charms for dinner…
In this post I previewed my round today. It was my normal Thursday money game. I’ve been fighting golf and personal demons so my game has been suffering.
The weather today was spectacular and the course, Bonneville, was in amazing condition. The greens were plush and fast and the fairways perfect. The rough was a little too “healthy” so you wanted to stay out of it.
My main goal for the day was to keep my mental focus and try to play golf, instead of hack it around concentrating on other things. I was able to concentrate quite well, after my tee shot on #1 hit the 9th fairway.
I had it to -1 up to #8 where I missed an easy uphill par putt of about 5 feet. 10-bogey, 12-bogey. Damn…went from -1 to +2 in 5 holes.
On the 230 yard par 3 15th, I hit a terrible 3-iron to about 15 yards short left. Then I “chubbed” (I made up that word) my chip to some six inch rough. I now had a downhill chip from heavy rough with the pin about 60 feet away. DRAINO!
The par 5 16th I had the “mo” and I knocked a 3-wood on the green for my 2nd shot and made a routine 2-putt birdie. Keeping the mo in hand I then knocked my tee shot on the par 3 17th to about 2 feet. 2nd birdie in a row. That brought me back to even, where I finished.
I collected the money today
I was quite happy with the round and the day got better. I managed to squeeze some clients for dough they owed me, and found out another important “deal” will be done in about 10 days which will help me big time. And to cap it off, I played drums in the studio on a guy’s album this evening…
