Greetings from my pal’s porch Vol 1

The setting:

I’ve just sold my house and closed today at 3pm. So you could say I’m homeless. I’ve been packing and purging all my junk since Thursday. I didn’t get to golf at all over the entire Memorial Day weekend which is the first time in 10 years. My golfing buddies kept calling saying they had one spot left for me…bummer.

Today I spent loading heavy furniture, throwing away 5 computers, purging junk and dumping 3/4 of my worldly possessions in a 10×20 foot storage unit. The move finishes tomorrow by 7pm. No golf for over a week now. This must be what it is like for a crack addict to go without his drugs. Pain pain.

I think I broke my toe and I smashed my pinkie. I’ve pulled some kind of muscles in my right shoulder.

My wife shut off our high speed internet connection two days early by mistake. Thanks to my pal Matt, I’m sitting on his milk box on his front porch writing this post. He ran me an ethernet cable out his front door to connect. Our wireless systems are not compatible unfortunately. It is 10:52pm and I have 2 minutes of battery power on my laptop left.

I’ll do anything for my loyal golf readers here!

I hope to get back to my normal posting and reviews by the weekend. If my new temporary pad doesn’t have a net connection, I’ll be back here tomorrow night on my buddie’s porch. My new connection is supposed to be hot by this Saturday.

I’m staying in a condo for 3-4 months while my new house is being built. The location of my new condo? It’s only on the 17th fairway at the course I happen to be league president of!

Now I have 1 minute of battery power left. Good night.

Man, do I feel for you…you are “The Man” for making the effort to get a post up.

I, too, am in dire straits. I have to spend the entire month in a mostly empty apartment while waiting for new tenants to arrive. I was hoping it would be earlier so I could get some cashola back but alas…

Moving is one of the ten most stressful things you can do…my advice? Play some golf…somewhere…soon.

Thanks Insta Marv. I’m done with the move now. I’m very tired…. After 8 days without golf, I’ll be in one of the biggest city amateurs tomorrow and Sunday. Thank goodness.
