Here’s today’s shirt scripting, courtesy of the fine golf apparel and lifestyle brand Bobby Jones.
This is a fantastically comfortable cotton polo which I’m wearing for the 2nd time now. Today’s post is an introduction to give me time to fully review this polo on the course and out on the town. Stay tuned for my full review soon. Along with this polo I have a pair of trousers and an unreal mint green jacket which I’ll be covering during Masters week. Stay tuned.
When I felt a slight chill this morning I knew exactly what I was going to insert into my apparel scripting for the day, the Bobby Jones Donegal Cable Mock. If you’re not sure what I mean about apparel scripting, stick around and you’ll eventually find out.
Bobby Jones Donegal Cable Mock Sweater is so comfortable and soft it’s practically sinful or indulgent. The comfort of this amazing sweater is rivaled by its style, all class, just like the original Bobby Jones, my favorite golfer of all time.
The $265 imported Donegal Cable Mock is made from 90% merino wool and 10% cashmere. The fabric is so absolutely soft it’s hard to fathom. It is also very light, not heavy feeling. The stylish V-neck sports some large, old-school buttons. This is a gamer and will just as stylish and comfortable in 20 years as it is now.
This is not a super thick or heavy sweater, so it’s not quite what you’d pick for a windy day in Chicago on January 4th. But in conditions where there’s a small chill in the air, spring or fall, San Francisco type conditions, it’s a perfect choice. Just this evening I used only this sweater on a date with the fine lady, with evening temps around the high 40’s to low 50’s.
I love sporting Bobby Jones apparel. I will never be the golfer Bobby Jones was, but I gain great inspiration from him. He was a true inspiration in his play, and his classic style is still as sharp many decades later as it was in 1930, the year he won the first ever Grand Slam in golf.
Oh, that chill I mentioned before? Gone. I’m perfectly comfortable and toasty now.
Hats off Mr. Jones.
I’m wearing this tremendous 1/4 zip baby alpaca fur sweater by Bobby Jones at this very moment. It is so comfortable that I may wear it even in the summer when it is 104 degrees.
This fantastic, stylish, sharp, classy, and mega-comfortable sweater is hands-down the best apparel item reviewed in 2014 at Hooked On Golf Blog.
By being said best item, I send my congratulations to Bobby Jones for winning the Best Apparel Item award in the 2014 Hooked On Golf Blog Product of the Year Awards! I’m sure this is the most prestigious award collected by Bobby Jones to date.
This is one of my quicker review turnaround times. I haven’t had the Bobby Jones Baby Alpaca 1/4 Zip Sweater for more than a few weeks, but after wearing it nearly every day since the temperatures dropped, I’ve logged more than enough miles to post my review. I wanted to be sure to get this review done before Thanksgiving and all the hubbub with Black Friday later this week. This is without a doubt the nicest, most comfortable, best looking sweater I’ve ever worn. No comparison. If you’re shopping for a golf sweater for yourself or for the golfer on your Christmas list, your search ends here.
The cable rib pattern and charcoal color of this sweater exude style and class. The suede piping around the front zipper is very sharp. The fit, cut, and ribs on the trim are so sharp.
The baby alpaca fur is so soft. I want an entire outfit, down to the undies, made from baby alpaca fur. I want my bed sheets and comforter made from baby alpaca fur. There is NO itching like one might expect from a wool sweater. The sweater is mega-soft and the fit is perfect.
This is not a super-heavy sweater. I’d recommend it for fall and spring. Very cold temperatures in the winter might be too much for this piece, unless wearing a jacket or outer layer.
The smooth fur and great fit of this piece do not bind, stretch, or restrict the golf swing. I can swing in full comfort.
No, the $225 price tag for this Bobby Jones Apparel piece is not cheap. Neither is a Mercedes.
Baby alpaca. I’m posting this just to write that… The temperatures here in northern Utah are dropping fast. On the course yesterday the high was 40 degrees and this morning it is 28. With wind-chill it is minus two million. Now is a perfect time to put the newly arrived Bobby Jones Baby Alpaca Cable 1/4 Zip to the test. Look at this beautiful piece:
I’ll be putting this sweater through the rigorous HOG review battery and posting my review and opinions soon. Initial impressions? For the first time in my life I may actually be hoping for cold weather.
