tattoo golf logoAs many of you know, I’m a rock & roll musician. Drummer to be exact. I love heavy metal, loud guitars and heavy bashing drums. That’s one reason I can’t stand it when they put Kenny G on TV golfing.

I roll into the golf course at 7:16 am with my 12 speaker Harmon Kardon car stereo cranked to nearly the ear bleed level. I love to get pumped up for a round of golf cranking the likes of Tool, Otep, Killswitch Engage, Machine Head and many more. I love the look on the cart boy’s face when I pull into a more snooty establishment with my windows and sunroof open and spewing out metal all over their parking lot.

cdtbottomHi-Tec CDT Golf Shoes

These are about the most well thought out and designed golf shoes I’ve ever seen. Hi-Tec took into account all aspects of the golf swing when designing the CDT’s.

Padraig Harrington even says he’s added a ton of distance off the tee by using Hi-Tec CDT Golf Shoes.

Hi-Tec CDT Power Golf Shoes

There are some companies that stand out above the rest in terms of innovation. Hi-Tec is one of those companies. Hi-Tec has been making sports shoes for over 30 years. That experience pays great dividends in Hi-Tec’s Golf Shoes.

cdtshoeSome golf companies make golf shoes by modifying dress shoes, without much thought going into design or functionality. Hi-Tec CDT Golf Shoes not only break that mold, they obliterate it.

The Technology:

Hi-Tec’s designers have obviously studied the footwork of the golf swing. They’ve built the shoes with reinforcement in all the crucial areas of the shoe.

The most obvious reinforcement I immediately spotted was the roll bar on the inside of the toe on each shoe. In the golf swing both feet roll. The roll bar protects the shoe from wear in the toe area. And it is rounded to allow for less resistance when you do roll. Why hasn’t any other golf shoe company thought of this?

FJ Dryjoys PRO: The bad, the ugy, the good

I’ve been happily wearing Footjoy golf shoes for about 20 years. I’ve gone through many of their styles and technologies and been completely satisfied with all of them…until now.

Foojoy Dryjoys P.R.O.My Footjoy FitDogs finally wore out after two years of heavy use. I had about $150 in pro shop money at a local club so I decided to get some new shoes. I didn’t bother with anything but the most expensive shoe FJ had to offer: the Dryjoys P.R.O. Costing around $160 this was the golf shoe to end all golf shoes!

The Dryjoys P.R.O. just look impressive. They are beefy and very stylish. They have an Aluminized Fiberglass Stability Bridge (wow, say that 10 times real fast). Basically that technobabble is short for “fiberglass arch.” They have a 2 year warranty and use the fast twist spike system. Wow, let me catch my breath. (more…)
