If you are, or have a child in the ages of 11-17 who golfs, this may be of interest for you. The SoCal Swing is a golf camp by Total Golf Adventures and the Southern California PGA (SCPGA) for ages 11-17 which plays courses in Los Angeles, Santa Barbara, Palm Springs and San Diego (Torrey Pines). The camp is 14 days long and there are two of them.

There will of course be golf instruction along with golf outings, sights and sounds of the west coast including two days at the Southern California beaches, a tour of Hollywood and the Sunset Strip, bowling nights and a full day at Disneyland.

The cost is $3800.

The Golf Network

There’s a new network for golf, targeting viewers in golf retail outlets. This network is called “The Golf Network.” “TGN”‘s is the first and only digital television network to go into golf retail shops. Their press release below says there’ll be 4,000,000 eyeballs watching monthly. Now does that mean 2,000,000 viewers since each one has presumably has two eyeballs? I digress.

TGN won’t be broadcasting golf tournaments, but it will have golf related features and can even have specially targeted broadcasts for particular audiences in specific areas. The cool thing is that golf retailers can make sure they have content they like being broadcast in their stores, without having their competitor’s ads in it!

Luke Swilor is on a roll

Written by: Tony Korologos | Wednesday, January 31st, 2007
Categories: Miscellaneous

My very good pal Luke Swilor is a local guy who is working his way up to the PGA Tour. He’s playing mini tours and trying to pay the bills with dough he makes as a pro golfer.

TWO in a row!

Luke Just notched his 2nd 1st place finish in a row so I raise my frosty beverage in a toast to Luke’s continued success.

New Lukeation

Luke’s blog has moved to a new location. If you have him on your blogroll be sure to update it to http://blog.lukeswilor.com/ and if you don’t have him blogrolled, do so now!
