6:22pm ET Thursday, Tiger Woods appears on the leaderboard for the first time in the 2007 Masters. But after bogeying the final two holes he dropped off the first page. Tiger needs to switch the weights on his illegal Nike driver to a draw bias for tomorrow after flaring drives into the right trees. But Augusta National was playing very hard today, with a scoring average of just over 76. Tiger is right there.
Justin Rose and Brett Wetterich sleep on the lead tonight. I hope they take pictures of the leaderboard because I doubt either one of them will be there on Sunday.
Ernie Els shot 78 with his new Callaway gear and said he “didn’t know” how he’d get back into the race. Phil Mickelson shot 76 which doesn’t sound good, other than much of the field shot around that score as well.
In my humble opinion, anyone who is at 77 or better is easily still in the race.

Man I watched Arnold Palmer hit the honorary tee shot this morning at The Masters and I had tears running down my face. I don’t cry very often–last time was when Spock died in Star Trek II the Wrath of Khan.
Mark O’Meara won the Masters par three contest at -5. Guess that means he won’t win The Masters Tournament.
David Toms and Rory Sabbatini both recorded hole-in-ones.
Special thanks to my good friend John K. who has contributed photos for the HOG 2007 Masters photo gallery!
