Sad story from Orlando. Champions Tour player Jim Thorpe (with the crazy swing) pleaded guilty on tax evasion charges. He didn’t pay over $2 million in taxes from income between 2002-2004. He could face up to two years in prison and a $4.1 million fine.
Video ads in golf bags?
I was doing my regular blog reading rounds when I came across this nugget on my favorite stops at Geoff Shackelford’s blog. Pro Bag Ads is the first company I’ve seen who is putting paid advertising via an LCD screen in pro golfer’s golf bags. So far I see only Michael Allen on their list of players.
More “ED” ads on the way!
I’m surprised someone didn’t think of this sooner really. Obviously the golf industry could use some new avenues to distribute more erectile dysfunction ads. We don’t have enough as it is.
What’s next? I can see ’em now
I did some deeper research and found some new development on LCD ads and golf. Soon we’ll be seeing LCD video ads on golfer’s shirts, hats and even more…
I’m not a “Twitter” fan. I think there’s a reason the first four letters are “twit.” But here’s a “tweet” from Stewart Cink on this week’s TOUR CHAMPIONSHIP:
It’s rained so much around ATL that many school systems are delayed or cancelled today. And East Lake closed all day — range and course.
Thanks to Vnello from The Golf Space for the tip on the new craze in caddies. Fluff and Steve Williams better watch out, or they may soon be replaced by llamas. Sherwood Forest Country Club’s caddy shack is full of llamas, who carry bags for $40. The players like the llamas and their “calm” demeanor.
It is possible that even Tiger Woods’ caddy Steve Williams could be replaced. Let’s do a side by side comparison table between Steve Williams and a llama to see who has the advantage. Perhaps Tiger’s drought in majors this year could have been avoided if he had a llama for a caddy?

Wow. The results are amazing. The llama wins by a landslide. Aside from the camera smashing category, the llama is equal or better in all others.
FYI amongst my golf photo gallery of nearly 11,000 images, I have a photo gallery from my round at the Jack Nicklaus designed Reflection Bay.
This is a very cool course with many water and desert hazards. There are some very scenic shots.
