Hell Day Tournament
Today is the the last tournament of the year for my men’s association, which I’ve been president now for SIX years. For the last tournament we trick the course out as crazy as possible and call the tournament “Hell Day.” I blogged about this format before, so see this link for more info on Hell Day.
Retiring as Mr. President
For six years I’ve run my men’s association, built a league web site, posted the scores, arranged the tournaments, updated handicaps, listened to whining and griping about everything imaginable, fielded calls at midnight from players wondering why their birdie on #13 didn’t hold up for a skin. For six years I’ve also had the pleasure of playing with, and meeting many very cool people and establishing lifelong friendships. During that six year span I managed to win a club championship, which is the proudest moment in my humble amateur golf career.
I became president of the club in 2005 because I wanted to improve it, and turn it into a classy and enjoyable league. I did just that.
Today is my last day as president. I’m hanging it up after six years. It is time for someone else to pick up the reigns.
My job is done.
I’ve got a lot of golf iPhone applications (apps) to review so I’m busting them out starting…… NOW. And soon, iPad apps since I just got a new iPad for my birthday.
GolfMoolah
GolfMoolah features 18 golf games. I can’t write a review on all of the games in this article, but here’s a list of all of them below:
Nassau | Skins | The Snake | Wolf | Sixes | Las Vegas | Bingo, Bango, Bongo | Acey Deucey | Quota Points | Bridge | Cut Throat on the Tee | COD | Hammer | High Low | Nines | Thirty-Two | Air Presses | Back it up
I’m now typing on my new iPad thanks to a very surprising and generous birthday gift. I tried typing on an iPad at the Apple Store and didn’t find it to be very easy. But after a few lines I’m finding it gets easier.
This unit will surely be a useful tool for blogging on the many road trips I go on to golf courses, golf resorts and golf travel destinations.
I opened the front door this morning to walk out to my car, and the car was covered with a very strange material. It was very cold to the touch and wet. It was white in color, though I did see one bit of yellow material on the corner where all the dogs go by. The ground was covered with this mysterious white material as well.
Strange.
This material doesn’t seem to be very conducive to playing golf, which is unfortunate.
