All claimed fantasy golf prizes have left the building

Boy was yesterday fun.  My local post office has ONE employee.  ONE.  In fact, since there’s nobody else to cover for him, he simply locks the door at 12:00 and leaves for lunch with a hand written note on the door:

“One employee.  This office will be closed for lunch from 12-1 daily.”

65 minutes after getting in line, I finally shipped out the last small fantasy prizes.

And some people want the government to provide us health care?  Don’t get me started.  I can see it now.

“This emergency room has one doctor.  He’ll be out to lunch daily from 12-1 and on the golf course Tuesdays and Thursdays…”

I wasn’t done though.  I had two large items to ship at FedEx.  All said and done I spent close to two hours shipping.

DONE – Looking to 2011 now

All prizes which were claimed have been shipped and it is now officially too late to claim a fantasy prize for 2010.  Unclaimed prizes will be added to next year or put into the HOG/Space prize pool for other site giveaways.

Is the local 2010 golf season finally over? What a difference a day makes.

I’ve played some form of golf for the last three days here in Salt Lake City, Utah.  Golf on December 12, 13 & 14 (9, 18, 18).  Those may be the last rounds of the year though.  Yesterday the course was green and today it is covered in snow.

Left: Yesterday - Right: Today

Last year the final round was 12/6. The next time I played a round of golf was the day after the 2010 PGA Merchandise show in Orlando, two months later.

It is nice to play golf this time of year, barring freezing to death.  Those few rounds will help come spring, when the swing has gone “x” weeks in hibernation.  I’m fairly satisfied with the scores from the three rounds, 37, 77, 77.  When I have 40 layers of clothing which restrict swing flexibility,  and my hands are freezing, shooting any score in the 70’s is good in my book.

Next tournament, 2010 Christmas Classic

Last year I won my first Christmas Classic tournament championship.  I’ve been happily carrying around the trophy for a year and I’m looking forward to becoming the first ever player to successfully defend this championship.

A small note to the spammer at IP address 58.22.77.190 who has been flooding my comments with spam links to Moncler products.

You’ve been banned.

Your IP is now blocked on my server.  Of course, my writing this to you is pointless since you’re banned and can’t get to this web site or any of the 30 others on my server now.

And I’m going to go ahead and say this, for those searching for Moncler on the web, Moncler products suck.

Vino Solo

Yet another classic case of the tough golf writing gig I have.  Today’s tough test is to evaluate Vino Solo, a “wine on the go” concept recently launch by KDM Global Partners.

What is Vino Solo?

Vino Solo is a small (187ml) bottle of wine, which comes with its own drinking flute (drinking glass).  For reference, a standard wine bottle is 750ml.  The bottle, cap and flute come as one very light and conveniently sized package which is great for 1-2 servings of wine on the go.
