There is going to be some fantastic golf to watch this week at the World Golf Championships Cadillac Championship. The venue is the famous TPC Blue Monster at Doral. The greens have just been resurfaced, so we will see how confused the players are, especially Tiger Woods with his putting situation.

Just before hitting the road for home today I watched a bit of the Tiger Woods presser on Golf Channel, from Doral and the WGC Cadillac Championship.
I wonder how long some of the scribes work on their questions or even think about what they are saying sometimes. For instance, this great one today:
Scribe
“Tiger, are you on track for the Masters?”
Woods
“Absolutely.”
Um, what answer would one suspect Tiger would give? Here’s an alternative:
Scribe
“Tiger, are you on track for the Masters?”
Woods
“Actually I’m glad you asked. I have no confidence in my game at all, especially after shooting a 62 in last Sunday’s final round. I’m announcing today that rather than embarrassing myself at Augusta, I’ve decided to decline my invitation to the Masters..”
I’ve been in Mesquite Nevada and southern Utah for a couple of days. The mobile HOG control center has been limited to a very intermittent and mega slow Edge network Internet connection on my iPad. This has prevented me from doing much posting. hard to work when it takes five minutes to load a web page.
The photo above is one clue as to where I’ve been.
I’m heading home shortly and the weather report shows a snowy trek is in store for 3/4 of the drive. I look forward to posting more about this recent tour stop this evening or over the next couple of days.
Following the win this past week at the Honda Classic, after holding off Tiger Woods’s record Sunday charge of 62, Rory McIlroy became the #1 ranked golfer on this planet. Luke Donald is now “former #1.”
The #1 ranking has been going around like a hot potato since Tiger Woods lost it. How long do you think McIlroy will hold onto this ranking? Comment below.
I’ve made the trip south with two of my best golf buddies to get out of the frozen tundra at home. Today we stopped by Green Spring in Washington Utah to loosen up the joints and try to remember how to hit a golf ball again. Later in the evening when the sun was setting, I managed to catch this snap of the 17th hole, a great par-3.
