Complementing the tour-proven and serious player acceptance of the recently introduced Titleist Pro Titanium 905 driver franchise, Titleist unveils its new comprehensive line of Pro Trajectory 904F fairway metals. The new fairway metals offer the serious golfer improved launch, spin and flight characteristics, providing a high launch, low spin, long distance 3-wood, and a full complement of higher-lofted models for long game trajectory and yardage gap fitting. The Pro Trajectory 904F series is available in five lofts ranging from 13 to 22 degrees in both right and left hand and incorporates the same clean, classic round pear-shaped profile and technologically advanced performance of the Titleist Pro Titanium 905 drivers.

Masters 6 & 12 live feeds

I’m watching this live feed from masters.org right now. It is really cool. You can watch either hole #6 or hole #12 which are both par 3’s. Unfortunately there is no sound.

Today’s pin placement on 12 is way left. I don’t know if it is a strange yardage or if there is some wind the players can’t see. It seems like 2/3 of the players are airmailing the green and the flag is not moving at all.

Bye bye blogger/blogspot

This is the first post in my new domain here at Hooked On Golf Blog. Since the beginning I’ve been using the free service at blogspot and the blogger software. This served me fine for a while, but my blog is growing fast. I’ve been feeling growing pains and having some formatting & display issues.

Now I’m no longer tied to blogger. I have my own domain and hosting now. I’ve been able to use much better blogging software and hopefully the interface and features will be much better. I also anticipate better speed and performance as well.

My new server also has TONS of other capabillities and scripts that I’ll be able to use to make the experience here even better. For now, I’m just working on the design and basics of the blog. More features will be coming soon.

Unfortunately during the conversion process, the comments from the old posts didn’t make the transition. They will still be at the old location.

Please feel free to contact me with suggestions and opinions, good or bad.

Phil and Vijay cat fight

Vijay compained to tournament officials that Phil (playing in the group in front of him) was wearing metal spikes that were too long and creating spike marks in the green. “He said on the 12th hole that someone in the group in front was tracking the green with his shoes,” said Steve Rintoul, a PGA Tour rules official working at the Masters.

This isn’t the first tiff these two have had. They have a history of getting under each other’s skin.

I wonder if I played Augusta they’d let me wear steel spikes? Probably not.

Titleist Vokey Oil Can Wedge

Oil Can
The Titleist Oil Can get’s it’s name from it’s finish. Each Oil Can wedge is unique looking due to a heat oxide treatment. This process provides a non-glare appearance as well as a very soft feeling wedge. Over time, the Oil Can finish will wear resulting in a raw wedge.

If the wedge gets wet it will rust. I would soak mine in a wet towel overnight and there would be a great deal of rust on the surface. (Don’t use a nice towel because the rust stains won’t wash out). The rust would act as a coating which would give the club even more grip on the face of the club which allowed me to impart even more spin on my shots.

This club is excellent in design, look and feel. It performed perfectly from full swings to small chips and pitches. On full swings the square looking grooves did shave a few different brands of balls. It didn’t work extremely well out of the sand but that may have been due to the lack of bounce on the model I tested.

The Vokey Oil Can Wedges will provide you with great performance and feedback.
