DavidTomsToday David Toms underwent a 5 hour surgery to fix his heart problems. Following the surgery the doctor said that Toms should be completely cured.

This is good news. I’m a David Toms fan for sure. Not only is he a great golfer, he’s an honorable guy. He even DQ’d himself at this years British Open.

Best of luck David. I hope to see you winning some tournaments in 2006.

New features here at HOG

OK, I guess you can say I’m “officially” back in the swing. I’ve got most of the site back into shape. I’m missing a couple of nuggets which will come. But I’ve also added some stuff. I’m glad to be writing actual posts instead of debugging tons of PHP, html and css lines of code trying to figure out how to make a certain block of text green.

The big news here is the new PHOTO GALLERY. I’ve got all my collection of Augusta National pics (courtesy of my best friend Alan Nelson), along with some other pics. This gallery is going to have potentially thousands of pictures related to golf in it. Hey, if you want to add some to the gallery just contact me! The gallery is very new and certainly is going to morph and change as I tweak the look and template.

I added a random gallery image function to the main blog page here to get people’s attention as well. Plus it spices up the main page and changes it up a little with each visit.

I also somewhat revamped the new HOG Master Links Section. I changed the layout a bit and I’m still adding tons of golf links (feel free to submit your site to me). The links section is totally functional but it is a work in progress.

I also put in a little module of site stats. As of the writing of this post there are currently 459 posts and 351 comments, contained within 18 categories. I had many other comments when I was in blogger but those were lost when I converted to wordpress back in April. This wasn’t intentional at all, but isn’t it funny that this golf blog has 18 categories?

I have yet to put back in the countdown and recent reviews blocks, but those should be in soon. OK, on to golf…

The Big Repeat IV

BBIVAfter the hell I’ve been in for the last few days getting all of my 10+ web sites back up and running I finally sat down to watch Tuesdays version of The Big Break IV.

Either my DVR recorded the wrong episode or this one was another frigging repeat. Oh well.

Coming along…

I’m about 90% restored now here since the big crash. I’m adding some new stuff, keeping the old stuff I liked, and getting rid of some other “stuff.”

I’ll be back to heavy golf blogging by tomorrow or Friday.

And stay tune for the new HOG PHOTO GALLERY! Coming very soon!

And the poll is been restored so vote if you haven’t!

And we’re back…..sort of. A DAY OF HELL

Last night at 2:00am or so the server for www.hookedongolfblog.com fried.

There was a quadruple redundant RAID setup there. The original drive became corrupt and the raid just backed up the corruption.

The main HOG server has been replaced but much data was lost. I do have a backup of the database which means all the posts will be there. The mods I’ve done to this template and many of the images may be missing. I’ve done a ton of customization and I’m going to have to do it again. The thing that sucks is that I had a regular backup. The backup was on the server in a different locale, but still no good.

It’s going to take me a few days to get things back up to speed.

This will give me the chance to upgrade my blog software and add a couple of new features I was waiting on.

In the mean time, enjoy this picture of TIGER WOODS’ house:

Some features/nuggets/modules or whatever you want to call them will be messed up for a day or two… I apologize for the inconvenience.
