I really like where the materials and technology in golf apparel have gone the past few years.  I can’t stand cotton polos, the wrinkling, shrinking fading.  Glad to have spandex and polyester these days.  Those materials last forever and hardly wrinkle. Case in point, the new Fila Golf Trento Polo.

The Trento Polo has a couple of different makeups in its construction, in the body and the panels.  The body is 90% Polyester and 10% Spandex, while the panels are 91% recycled Polyester and 9% Lycra.

In English we have a shirt which is going to be easy to clean, won’t shrink and won’t fade.  It hardly requires ironing either.  Perfect for travel.

There is an anti-bacterial finish in the fabric, which helps prevent odors and increases the durability.

Tech-Dry fabric wicks moisture and helps keep you dry.  The moisture is transferred to the outer layer of the polo, where it can evaporate.  Quite amazing.

The Polyester in the fabric is made from 100% soda pop bottles!  Nice.  You can have a great shirt and go green.

On The Course

I’ve had the pleasure of dawning my Trento a few times now.  The shirt fits perfectly and is very comfortable.

I put the shirt (and some Fila shorts) to the ultimate test this past week, while walking the grounds of Augusta National at the Masters.  The temperature the day I wore the Trento at the Masters was 91 degrees and about 90% humidity.  I can honestly say the wicking technology really works.  I was comfortable, cool and dry.

I love the looks of this polo as well.  It is very sharp and classy.  The textured pattern (pictured right) in the weave is very nice.

During the golf swing there is absolutely no binding or pulling.  No restriction.

Colors / Sizes

The Fila Trento Polo is available in three colors: black, silver and white.

There are seven, count ’em, SEVEN sizes.  They start at extra small and go up to triple extra large.

What I want from a golf polo is a just a few simple things: comfort, classy looks, performance, no restrictions in the golf swing, easy cleaning and maintenance.  The $80 retail Trento scores 100% on all my requirements.  Highly recommended.
