Note to self: Must find a way to Bulgaria to golf at Thracian Cliffs

Heard from a golf buddy the other day, the story of a group of his friends who just got back from a fabulous golf trip to Bulgaria.  “Bulgaria?” I asked?  My pal sent me the YouTube video below of Thracian Cliffs Golf and Beach Resort.  I was instantly intrigued.

Gary Player designed the golf course at Thracian Cliffs.  The course sits on the west coast of the Black Sea.  Every hole has a view of the Black Sea and most of the holes are right on the cliffs overlooking the Black Sea.

The gears in my head are already grinding, thinking of some way I can get out there.  Bulgaria is nowhere near St. Andrews, so probably not when I make the next trip to the home of golf.  But Bulgaria is close to Greece.  Yes… Now it is coming together.  Trip to Bulgaria, then to my ancestral land of Greece, then the Greek islands.  Yeeeessss.

    Hi Tony

I palyed the course two times in the summer 2011 – I own an apartment at the Hillside.

Trust me that course is breathtaking and you can’t wait to see and play the next hole just to see the view, the layout etc. It trule is the best course I have ever played.

I have just received an email from the employees at TC and they tell me that the course is developing very well and they haven’t had any snow this year giving the course even better chances of being perfect.

Hope you get the chance to play the course and stay at the resort for a few days – let me know 🙂
