Tiger Woods to drop out of top 10 in world golf ranking. Wow that was fast…

Tiger WoodsAll the media scribes are going nuts about Tiger Woods eminent drop out of the top 10 next week in the world golf ranking.  First time in 14 years since he will be out of the top 10.

Sure that is golf news and everyone needs to mention Tiger for traffic, but the more interesting thing to me is that it took this long for it to happen.  He hasn’t won a tournament in 1.5 years and hasn’t exactly played great during that period either.

I don’t think Tiger is “done” as some critics are saying.  He is after all only 35.  Think about the length of some other players’ careers like Vijay Sing, Kenny Perry, Fred Couples etc.  But the injuries keep coming and the swing changes don’t seem to be working just yet.

I would agree that the World Golf Rankings are terribly flawed. Tiger hasn’t played like a top 10 golfer since the “crash”. The rankings are way too delayed to accurately show who is currently the top golfer at the moment.
