Site steals my post about them stealing my posts…

This is a classic brain knot exercise. I did a post about this web site who is scraping my content and many others’ content and posting it without permission.  Their system automatically scraped that post, about them stealing, and it appears on their page.  Classic.

Great Golf and Spa stealing my content

Wonder if they'll steal my post about them stealing my post about them stealing my posts? Click for larger image.

I like to link to my own web sites within my content for this very reason.  That way if someone does rip off my posts, it at least links back to my site somewhere.

I need to get on with getting this damn site shut down.  But maybe I’ll wait and see if they steal my post about them posting my post about them stealing my posts first.  Then the screen capture could be a picture in a picture in a picture…

Classic…but what are you gonna do? Is it worth your time to pursue it? I wish all these kinds of sites would get banned…forever!!

  2. The Green Blazer says:

This is one of the funniest things I’ve read in a while. It’s safe to say they’re not editing their content. I’d say you could take advantage of that but clearly you already have.

  3. Miles Dowsett says:

I love the irony of this though. It’s totally amatuerville. The guy is ripping your content because “Google loves content” right? But what he doesn’t seem to realise is that Google will penalise him for publishing duplicate content “after” your original content is already published – he will get absolutely no benefit in search engine rankings, unlike you, who will reap all the benefits through publishing original content.

Too funny … they did steal your post about them stealing your post about them …. uh … stealing …. uh …. your post. Or something like that.

  5. Thanks for all the comments, Chris, Blazer, Kevin and Miles.

Yes, this post has also been stolen. So I guess it is time to post the “Site steals my post about them stealing my post about them stealing my post.”

I might make a giant banner saying something like “Great Golf and Spa Sucks Dog Balls – sign them up for porn spam” or something and watch it magically appear on their site the next day… Could be fun.
