I’m two days late on this announcement because I didn’t have an internet connection, but I’m happy to announce that Hooked On Golf Blog has just had its 6th birthday blogday.
One of the original golf blogs, I founded HOG on 12/4/2004 at the suggestion of my best friend Alan. Al was a pioneer in blogging, and told me that blogs would be the next big thing on the internet (pre “social networking” era). When I asked him what I should blog about he said, “blog about something you love.” Naturally golf came to mind, after ruling out wine, cheese, cigars, heavy metal, jazz and strippers.
Thankful
As a result of working this blog I’ve met some of the coolest people in the golf world, traveled to some of the most incredible places and had a first hand look at gear. I’ve even had input into the development processes of major golf company’s products by giving them feedback with test gear, apparel and golf balls.
For all of the great people I’ve met, great golf courses and golf travel destinations I’ve visited and great golf companies I’ve dealt with, I’m thankful. I’m especially grateful for my visitors who, for some reason, keep coming here. Thank you.
Going into year seven I’m anxiously looking forward. I can’t wait to see what the 2011 golf season has in store, who I’ll meet and what cool stuff I’ll be exposed to. I’ll be blogging about it all right here so stay tuned.
