Match play situation on the PGA Tour

Arron Oberholser and Mike Weir are tied at -17 going into today’s final round the Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. The nearest competitor, Luke Donald, is 6 shots back.

So it’s basically match play for the day, unless both players gag a few holes and let the field back into it.

Mike Weir

Robert Thompson is watching Weir closely I’m sure. He’s documented Weir (my neighbor BTW) and his struggles since winning the Masters. I’d have to say a win here does mean he’s completed a comeback. But a full comeback to me would mean winning a tournament or two AND contending for most the PGA Tour season.

My DVR will be working hard on this program as I’ll be golfing today for the 2nd time this year. Sunny and a high of 44: that’s golf weather around here.
