Kapalua Day 1

Welcome to the 2006 PGA season. I like watching golf in prime time for sure. But with a TIVO watching golf on your own schedule is the only way.

The changes at Kapalua are quite interesting. They changed the contours of 8 greens and reseeded all the greens with a different grass. The greens are much faster. It was fun to watch some of the delicate putts they had get blown off line by the wind.

Olin Browne leads after day one. He’s got a one stroke lead over Vijay and two over David Toms and Sergio Garcia.

The worst hole of the young PGA season goes to Jason Gore who lost two balls enroute to a 9 on the par 4 13th hole. But his 80 wasn’t the worst score of the day. Brad Faxon carded an 82. 82 isn’t that bad. Remember that Kapalua is a par 73. 😉

The only way to get anything like TIVO here is to subscribe to Foxtel Digital, and the cost for that just cannot be justified!

Oh well – I’ll just have to keep reading here to get my updates 🙂
