My 2008 golf season may finally be over

I was happy to get in 16 holes yesterday before I ran out of daylight. I even hit my irons solid, which I haven’t been doing lately. Perhaps I hit them solid because I had to. If you thinned an iron in that super cold temp, your hand would go numb for the next 15 minutes.

I guess that was likely the last round of 2008 in my neighborhood because I woke up to find a big snow storm dumping.

John Daly looking to replace Tiger Woods’ caddy Steve Williams

John Daly is auditioning for the position of Tiger Woods’ caddie.  Down (under) in Australia at the Australian Open, JD statched a camera from a specatator and smashed it into a tree, performing a flawless Steve Williams imitation.

The spectator was putting the camera right up in JD’s grill and bliding him with the flash.  The powers at Golf Australia are apparently on JD’s side because they’re not sanctioning him.

To quote Peter Gabriel lyrics… “Smash the camera.  Cannot steal away the spirits.”  I’m on JD’s side this time around.

Paul Azinger won’t be captaining the next Ryder Cup team.  The guy knows how to quit while he’s ahead or on top.

Maybe he figures the next Ryder Cup team won’t have as good of a chance at winning next time because Tiger Woods will likely be back playing on the team?

As I’ve mentioned a few times before, I don’t typically wear golf gloves.  But after wearing a couple of great gloves recently, I’m considering a change, at least for the cold weather of winter golf.

I’ve played a bunch of rounds with a Cutters golf glove.  Cutters gloves are crossed over from gloves made for other sports.  Cutters is famous for being in play on may NFL and college football receivers’ hands.  The same technology which helps those football players hang on to the ball helps a golfer grip solidly.

Technology

Cutters gloves employ their trademark “C-TACK™ Material” for an enhanced grip.   C-TACK allows you to grip your club with less pressure.  If you can be relaxed yet have a firm grip, you can generate more power, control and club head speed.
