Michelle Wie has failed to qualify for the women’s US OPEN, and stuff.  She missed qualifying by one stroke, like.

  1. Old Man Par says:

Yet she remains the future of the LPGA in their eyes.

What’s clear is that while Wie has a lot of talent with a golf club, she’s yet to fulfill her promise in any meaningful way whatsoever. Yet she is the savior of women’s golf in marketing terms?

The truth about Wie is that she has fewer accomplishments than even young Maria Stackhouse the young phehom from Georgia whose record clearly displays her golfing skills.

While I wish the best for Wie, at the same time, I grow tired of constant comparisons of her to the truly accomplished winners of the game. Wake me when Michelle Wie wins her first 72-hole event anywhere.

Which is a true statement of nearly every Nationwide player and club pro in the world, and I would think it’s the nine inches ‘tween the ears that make the difference.

I suppose they were hoping for the female Tiger Woods, not realizing that they just had her, and that her name was Annika Sorenstam.

  3. We have two good candidates for this month’s comment contest and potential winner of the Blue-Ray of The Greatest Game Ever Played! Stay tuned.
